I think one of the reason could be PSIR में scaling-normalisation ज़्यादा हुआ है।

even last year ki CSE-2024-cycle (some) toppers with PSIR had got not so high marks but were saved by essay/ethics/interviews.

so if they (UPSC) finetuned the PSIR scaling-formula further, this can happen.

But we can only know for sure after the final result comes next year after interview.

If they (UPSC) immediately give the mains mark sheet to the failed candidates, they can start to improve in weak areas, rather than engaging in such speculation ki which paper ने उनको दगा दिया?

2026 is going to be my first attempt and my preparation is going well. And my optional is agriculture.

So I gave HPSC ADO(Agriculture Dev Officer). Cleared prelims. Mains on 25 December.
Should I prepare wholly for my ADO mains? ( Which is going to help me in optional if I qualify prelims.)

✅ Mrunal replies:
- Small states often have irregular state service exams, especially for technical jobs like agri/forest officer.
- So, Agri officer vacancy may not come again for 3-5 years.
- If your family situation isn’t supportive or you have financial urgency, focus on this state agriculture exam first.
- You’ll face fewer candidates in this (tech-services) competition compared to normal state service exams, where the applicant pool is much larger.
- if this is not the case, then focus on UPSC
