I think one of the reason could be PSIR में scaling-normalisation ज़्यादा हुआ है।

even last year ki CSE-2024-cycle (some) toppers with PSIR had got not so high marks but were saved by essay/ethics/interviews.

so if they (UPSC) finetuned the PSIR scaling-formula further, this can happen.

But we can only know for sure after the final result comes next year after interview.

If they (UPSC) immediately give the mains mark sheet to the failed candidates, they can start to improve in weak areas, rather than engaging in such speculation ki which paper ने उनको दगा दिया?
