🌽 Can I Appoint Someone In Another Country To Give Out Zakāh al-Fiṭr On My Behalf If I Cannot Find Poor Muslims

The Questioner Asked:
Shaykh, may Allāh bless you. With regards to Zakāh al-Fiṭr, it is difficult for me to find a poor Muslim in my city and to meet up with them, so am I allowed to appoint someone else to give my zakāh in another country or another area?

👤 by Shaykh Dr. ʿAbdullah ibn Ṣulfīq aẓ-Ẓafīrī حفظه الله

📄 Pivotal Quote: “If you cannot find any, then yes, you may appoint someone else. You may either give them the food and they can deliver it to a poor and needy person or you can give another person money and that other person can buy the food and give it to the poor and needy. You do not give cash to the poor and needy for Zakāh al-Fiṭr…”

🗯 *When and How Should We Perform The Takbeer of ʿEid Now That In The Lockdown The Ṣalāh al-ʿEid Is Being Performed At Home*

👤 by Shaykh Sālim ibn ʾAbdullah Bāmiḥriz حفظه الله

*The Questioner Asked:*
Since we will be doing the ʿEid prayer at home, when would we need to recite the Takbīr for ʿEid? We know that the Salaf would begin to do this once they left their homes. When is the best time for us to begin and end the Takbīr?

📄 *Pivotal Quote:* “So in our situation, we receive the news of the moon sighting, we continue to say this in our homes, otherwise, we would say it wherever we were. Since we are at home, we continue to say this in our homes to the extent that Allāh wills throughout the night. Then in the morning, we pray Fajr and after the Fajr prayer, eat seven dates to make a distinction between the previous days when we were fasting and did not eat after Fajr.”

🏡 *Since The Prayer Will Be At Home During The Coronavirus Lockdown Then Is It Better To Pray In The House or Outside In One’s Yard or Garden*

👤 by Shaykh Sālim ibn ʾAbdullah Bāmiḥriz حفظه الله

*The Questioner Asked:*
The ʿEid prayer is carried out outside. Is it better for one to do it inside their houses or outside, such as in their garden etc.?

📄 *Pivotal Quote:* “Yes, if you have a yard outside your home, you are able to pray and there is no law against praying outside of your home (you are allowed to go outside), then there is no problem with that and it is permissible.”

🥜 *Do We Still Practice The Sunnah of Eating Dates Before We Leave For The ʿEid Ṣalāh Even Though It’s Being Prayed At Home *

👤 by Shaykh Sālim ibn ʾAbdullah Bāmiḥriz حفظه الله

*The Questioner Asked:*
The Sunnah is to eat dates or if they are unavailable to eat something else before setting out for the ʿEid prayer. Should such things still be carried out at home?

📄 *Pivotal Quote:* “Yes, we continue to practice this Sunnah even though we are not going out for the ʿEid prayer. So after we pray Fajr at home, then we eat seven dates (or any odd number) before making the ʿEid prayer, as a sign that we are no longer fasting because the day begins with the Fajr prayer.”

🌙 The Moon Sighting Is Specific To Every Locality and Region

🖋 by The Emminent Scholar From Ethiopia Based in Makkah, The Muḥadith Al-Shaykh Muḥammad Ādam al-Ithyūbī حفظه الله
📌 *N.B.*
This is المسألة الواسعة as our teacher Moosaa Richardson حفظه الله mentioned, an issue of understandable difference and both sides have their evidence; however, it is a misconception, especially in the west, that a person is only considered Salafī if they follow international or Saudi Moon sighting. We need to accommodate each other in these issues and focus on the important issues. BārakAllāhu fīkum

⚠️ The Position and Safety of A Muslim In Times of Fitnah

📌 A very potent and vital lecture delivered by our noble Shaykh Dr. ʿAbdullāh al Bukhārī (May Allāh preserve him) to Mpubs and a cooperation of several countries, that was translated into some nine languages. Our honourable Shaykh mentioned that in this complete religion of Islām, Allāh has left us with guidance in every affair, and no different is that of fitnah (trials and tribulation), whether inward or outward. The principles from the Qur'ān and Sunnah defined in this lecture are excellent tools and essential keys to the success of a Muslim in his stance against fitan, by remaining aloft, prevailing and being safe.
