❓ The Questioner Asked:
My grandmother accepted Islām a few months ago but she has hidden her Islām from my grandfather because he is a strict Christian. She has Leukaemia and some other health problems, which means that she has to take medicine in addition to chemotherapy so she is not fasting and it is hard for her to cook and feed a poor person for each day of the fast she has missed. So is it permissible for me to feed a poor person for each day that she does not fast on her behalf because she is sick and not able to fast? And does the poor person fed have to be a Muslim?

If a person’s source of income is from Ribā, are his fasting, his prayers and his other acts of worship going to be accepted? And how are we to deal with a person like this, especially when they feel no remorse and say that there is no way to avoid dealing in Ribā in our day and time?

❓The Questioner Asked:

There is a masjid in our country that the people continue to pray the five daily prayers and Jumuʿah in it, in spite of the fact that there are so many recommendations of avoiding gatherings. So what is your advice to the people praying in that masjid?

📄 Quote: “These people are differing with what is an ijmāʿ of the Muslims in our day and time. The Muslims Scholars throughout the world have advised and ruled that the masājid are to be closed to avoid the Coronavirus and that people are to pray at home instead of in the masājid. So whoever continues to pray in the masjid are differing with the guidance that is sent by Islām and this ijtihād of theirs (the effort that they are putting forth) is in the wrong place. “How many people are there who want good but will never achieve good.”

These people, their action of praying in jamāʿah in the masjid, they are closer to committing a sin than getting any reward for what they are doing. So a person should beware of them and warn against them.”
