❓ The Questioner Asked: My son is 8 years old and he memorises more Qurʾān than me, so is he allowed to be the imām in the ṣalāh (i.e. the five daily prayers) to lead us in prayer, because some people have told me that a young boy can be the imām for the Sunnah prayers but he cannot be for the five daily prayers?

During fasting, some people go to extremes in spitting after washing their mouths in wuḍūʾ or after brushing their teeth with toothpaste because they want to make sure no traces of water whatsoever is left in their mouth. What is your advice regarding this?

❓ The Questioner Asked:
My grandmother accepted Islām a few months ago but she has hidden her Islām from my grandfather because he is a strict Christian. She has Leukaemia and some other health problems, which means that she has to take medicine in addition to chemotherapy so she is not fasting and it is hard for her to cook and feed a poor person for each day of the fast she has missed. So is it permissible for me to feed a poor person for each day that she does not fast on her behalf because she is sick and not able to fast? And does the poor person fed have to be a Muslim?
