As Iran has been attacking the Gulf States, the Israeli Defense Minister and Prime Minister have stated clearly: if Israel is attacked, they will respond with heavy force (unspoken: without asking for US approval, and without the careful limits the US has been applying).
Iran’s response: missiles and drones fired at Jordan, right up to the border with Israel. The message: ‘we can hit you, and it will hurt, do not even think about attacking us.’
Yet a small mistake on Iran’s part, a missile that goes just a little too far.. or an act by Hezbollah that Israel responds forcefully to, and the situation will explode. Particularly as the IDF is primed for a surprise attack by Iran.
