That Eye Blunt Injury

The incident of a blunt eye injury during a football game caused me to spend a week alone in the hospital, which led to the discovery of my sense of self. I associate mostly with being a student, as I have always been passionate about learning and developing my knowledge. However, the experience of the injury made me realize that being cautious and aware of my surroundings is also a defining part of my identity. As a student, I am constantly learning and growing, but as someone who has suffered an injury, I am also aware of my vulnerability. This experience has taught me to be more careful and attentive in my day-to-day life, especially when participating in physical activities. Overall, the experience has helped me to redefine my identity and to appreciate the importance of taking care of myself.

Day 1.

July 17. Monday Morning.

Supposed to wake up at 4 a.m. (but failed). Alarm snoozed a couple of times. Went to turn it off. Went to my bed again.

After couple of hours of nap, I woke up and immediately checked the time. It was almost 6. I was like: "time to grind," but suddenly my stomach whispered: "Where's my fuel?" Then, my body was directing me to the kitchen and chose a fruit that is unlike to be distasted by others: Banana. Everyone loves it. Seniors. Infants. Adolescents. Animals mostly. Whilst eating that fruit, I was still sleepy. For split seconds, a desire to drink coffee sparked, but it turned down quickly. Making coffee in the morning was the best option to avert possible danger of taking nap that will wake me up at 10 a.m. or so. Unfortunately, or fortunately (the day before commuting broke my legs from one corner of the city to another), I couldn't fuel my body with energizer (coffee).

Eventually, I ended up going to my room to take a nap that lasted another invaluable two hours of my day. I didn’t regret the outcomes of the day. I'm grateful for the day)

Day 2.

July 18. Sleep early ≠ wake up early.

After my parents made decent points about how sleeping early and waking up at 4 a.m. could help my progress in studies, I had a thorough simile between being a night owl or early riser for upcoming events. Deciding which way to choose, I came to the conclusion that it is better to get your work done earlier. Then you would receive a sense of satisfaction; would derive true love to the action you are taking in this phase of your life; and would have more time to rest, meditate, and exercise after completing usual 8-hour work (by usual, writer means that average people who do a particular task (reading 100 pages) break their focus if they do it during day time (9-17)) faster, effective than the rest of the society.

Fellas who are reading this can say: "You are just moving around the table. Hit the point." If this is your comment, I will highly appreciate your reminder, but you are right. Let's get to the main thing then.

After all, I was ready to start off my day at 4 a.m., completing several tasks that I should do that day. However, the coin has the other side: preparation. Preparation is going to the bed early in order to wake up at a certain time. You can not say I will submit my assignment before the deadline, but you didn't even read the task until one day before the deadline approached. I slept at midnight (which is becoming normal to me and was early in a stupid way).

Calling me at 4, my mom had successfully completed a task that was to wake his son Mountstorm up in the sun rise time. I jumped off my bed, looking through the window (to check if it was the right time to start a business). Then, I went to the bathroom, washed my face, and returned to the Mountstorm workspace: that's how I call my workdesk in my bedroom. Desire of getting morning energizer sparked again. That desire led me to the kitchen. Boiled water. Prepared the cup. Boom. Handmade coffee.

Drunk that cup of liquid and got into business, actually reading articles about distasted topics, not distasted but boring topics. I can say that I was quite productive that day using a few techniques. I managed to read/annotate one of my assignments before 8, a petite accomplishment. Then, I took a nap until 10 a.m.
