Misunderstanding about MUN 🇺🇳
To start with, every year the number of mun conferences is growing by geometric progression. This is by no means a bad thing, on the contrary, it's cool when there is a culture of meeting at events and having debates on various topics. However, with the increase in the number of MUN conferences, in particular in Uzbekistan, a lot of students from Uzbekistan indicate different MUN in their extracurricular activity list (and it does not depend on whether it is a serious MUN or not). Then, universities see that there are a lot of students in this region, who mention MUN conferences in their list (they do not look at whether any school or prestigious institute has organized this mun), therefore, the importance of mun conferences decreases in their eyes. With Ted-ed, the situation is almost the same, but Ted has a quite more significance.
It is need to mention that, firstly, the participation in MUN should be, if you like debating or like to talk and communicate with people. I don't see the point in going and participating where you don't like, just for the sake of the activity list.
