Questa è una cosa molto, molto interessante oltre che divertente. Con il suo iPhone XS questo dottorando di informatica teorica (metodi formali) è riesciuto a far girare una app fatta in casa per l'elaborazione di una classe di problemi decisionali (satisfiability modulo theories o SMT) che va molto, molto meglio dei migliori processori Intel a 64 Bit. La Guerra dei mondi, intesa come sceneggiato radiofonico di Orson Welles, ha cambiato (o meglio: svelato) il mondo della comunicazione. In una maniera che non è per niente positiva, bisogna aggiungere. Due parole: fake news.

Il 30 novembre di due anni fa, cioè un paio di giorni dopo la mia partenza da Las Vegas, un A320 della Frontier Airlines (low cost americana) ha perso la copertura di un motore dopo il decollo da quello stesso aeroporto. Identificato il problema, è tornato a terra senza nessuna conseguenza se non il ritardo per i passeggeri.
