FAQ: I signed up on waitlist for next #DV2021 lawsuit. What time today will I receive an email with the announcement?

Answer: Emails will start going out within a few hours but will take us some hours to get out to all because there are many on waitlist.

Please do not message or email me to let me know someone received before you do. Thank you. 🙏
FAQ: I am thinking about transferring my case to be assigned to a different embassy. How do I decide which embassy?
Answer: I recommend you base that decision on 3 factors:
(1) what countries you can travel to now - taking into account all restrictions,
(2) whether March visa statistics show that the US embassy in that country was issuing visas in March (https://bit.ly/3tcwwAB), and
(3) what that particular US embassy's website says now.
FAQ: I am #DV2021 selectee and former member of IRGC. Should I take part in lawsuit?

Answer: In my view, no. Under existing law implementing the FTO-designation, your visa application would almost certainly be refused under grounds - INA § 212(a)(3)(b)- that have potentially permanent consequences. Until President Biden has the courage to remove IRGC from the FTO list, I recommend former members of IRGC not pursue visa applications to US.
FAQ: I signed up on #DV2021 waitlist, does this mean I am automatically a named plaintiff on the next lawsuit?
Answer: No. The purpose of the waitlist was only to make sure you received the announcement.

Answer: No.
#DV2021 New Lawsuit Onboarding #FAQ: I am a DV selectee but my child is a US citizen. Do I give their information when signing up for lawsuit?
Answer: No.
#DV2021 New Lawsuit #FAQ: If I am scheduled for interview before you file the lawsuit, do I have to pay?
Answer: Yes, if you hire us, we will represent you in litigation and in consular processing and entry, and you will need to pay us. If you are uncomfortable with that, wait until last minute to join. That’s fine.

2021.05.04 Goh v US Dept of State docket report.pdf

#DV2021 FAQ: What's going on in #GohvBiden before Judge Mehta?
Answer:
(1) No motions pending.
(2) Status conference set for tomorrow, Wednesday, May 5, 10 am EST.
public access, call: +1 (404) 443-2170,
access code 321-8747
Some bad news for #DV2020 Gomez (and consolidated cases - Mohammed, Fonjong, Kennedy, and Aker):
In status conference in Goh this morning, Judge Mehta expressed need for hearing for Gomez/DV2020 and proposed to Goh attorney Charles Kuck that it be concurrent with #DV2021 hearing. Kuck did not argue it should come sooner.
This is indication that an order for DV2020 will probably not be forthcoming in May or June.
FAQ: Why does it sometimes take a long time to get an order from a judge?

Answer: Usually, a delay with an order has nothing to do with the parties or the plaintiffs’ claims. Rather, the delay is due to courts being buried in civil lawsuits. Also, federal judges also have to handle criminal cases, which take priority because the liberty of the accused is at stake. It’s important to remember judges typically preside over hundreds of cases at the same time.
