Maybe this sounds like a childish rant, but I feel this strongly because corruption is not just some abstract “part of life” that everyone has to accept. Real people get hurt by it. People with less money, fewer connections, and less power are the ones who pay the highest price. A person who can afford to pay a bribe may see it as a necessary shortcut, but someone who cannot afford it may lose access to a service, a job, justice, medical care, documents, basic fucking dignity. That is why I cannot accept it as just another adult compromise. It is not harmless. It shouldn’t be simply “how things work”. I want people to understand that my anger comes from seeing how deeply unfair and damaging that is, because I just experienced it. And this is not something new, it’s been like this for a minute, I know. But now, it’s just blatantly in your face. As a community, there must be something we can do. It cannot continue like this. Because the government is clueless, for example they updated paper land deeds to better deeds (more stamps or whatever) to fight corruption, sure enough the process of updating was ripe with corruption. Then they said “let’s make it digital” and the process to make it digital? You guessed it, ripe with corruption. Then they’re like, nah, the digital deed is not valid, now we came up with ecarta or whatever they’re calling it; sure enough, that process is ripe with corruption. Wtf? Then they decided to decentralize it to local land administrations, that process? Corrupt. Then they’re like, we have better GIS info, you should update.. guessed right again, corrupt! And when you call the Addis city admin to complain, they tell you to gather evidence!!!?!?! They expect 70 year old women to have concealed cameras and do a sting op. Anyways, it’s just unreal. I hope y’all don’t have to face this shit, and if your parents do, help them, because this is what’s shaving years off of their lives. Please help them.

If y’all are wondering how your company can use the Fayda API. Ezpz, register here: https://partner.fayda.et/

Docs here:
https://id.et/api

No fuss, just have the legally mandated documents, you’re good to go. The legal process is also improved (I know someone was having a hard time with that).

(I’m not with Fayda anymore, but I do admire the team, they’re continually doing a great job. Always improving.)

Looking to sell my MacBook Pro M3, used, 512 + 18 gigs ram 16in screen. Very good condition. 89% battery 🔋 and around 295 cycle count. Physically it’s in good condition but the screen (as with all MacBooks) has the keyboard imprinted. Annoying but almost inevitable. (Trillion dollar company but they couldn’t solve this, but it’s not noticeable when working) Other than that it’s a workhorse, used it for almost two years, battery lasts for the entire day of work (if I don’t run containers or models).

Didn’t know how much to ask, but on Jiji, used, they go for 300k+. Which is too much. I got it from the apple store, I’m okay with 280k. Danke!
