A 1-year-old girl in China tragically passed away after being born with a rare condition called fetus in fetu, where a fetus was found inside her skull.

This condition, which affects approximately 1 in 500,000 births, led to severe head swelling and developmental delays in the child.

Despite undergoing neurosurgery to address the issue, the girl succumbed to her condition within two weeks due to extensive brain damage.

Only 18 similar cases have been documented worldwide, highlighting the extreme rarity of this condition occurring within the skull.

In 2000, Qian Hongyan survived a devastating car accident at a young age but lost both of her legs.

Growing up in rural Luliang county, Yunnan province, her family improvised due to financial hardship.

Photos from 2005, when Qian was 10, show her learning to walk on her hands, using a halved basketball for balance, earning her the nickname "basketball girl."

That same year, after gaining attention in the Chinese press, she traveled to Beijing to receive free artificial limbs at the China Rehabilitation Research Center.

In a remarkable act of bravery, a middle school teacher in Houston named David Garza saved a 15-year-old girl from an assault on July 28, 2024. Hearing her desperate cries for help, Garza quickly grabbed his firearm and confronted the attacker, who immediately fled the scene.
