In December 1963, while spearfishing along Australia's southern coast, Rodney Fox was suddenly dragged underwater.

In an instant, he endured a punctured diaphragm, torn lung, pierced scapula, and exposed abdomen, ribcage, spleen, and upper stomach. When rescuers finally retrieved him, they had to leave his wetsuit intact to prevent his organs from spilling out.

Following four hours of intricate surgery and the application of 462 stitches, Rodney Fox survived one of the most severe non-fatal Great White Shark attacks in history, living to share his incredible tale.

When domesticated dogs and cats are left alone with their deceased owners, it isn’t uncommon for the animal to begin eating them. Scientists hypothesize pets will lick and nip at their owner’s face for comfort out of the distress of seeing them unconscious or hurt. Eventually, they draw blood, and instinct takes over from there.

In 1994, near her South African home, Alison Botha faced a horrific abduction.

Frans du Toit and Theuns Kruger took her to a remote area where they subjected her to rape, disembowelment, and near-decapitating throat slashes. Despite enduring 30 stab wounds and 16 neck slashes, Botha miraculously remained conscious.

Left alone with sand and broken glass, she etched her attackers' names incase she died.

Recognizing a chance at survival, she spotted headlights in the distance. Holding her nearly decapitated head and keeping her intestines in place, she staggered towards the road.

Discovered by veterinary student Tiaan Eilerd, Botha was promptly aided by emergency services. One doctor noted the unprecedented severity of her injuries. Remarkably, she made a full recovery and has shared her story in over 35 countries.

On September 25, 2000, 19-year-old Kevin Hines attempted to end his own life by jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge. Plunging over 220 feet at a speed of 75 miles per hour, he hit the water below, shattering three of his vertebrae and narrowly missing severing his spine by two millimeters. Despite the odds, he miraculously survived the impact.

Upon realizing he was still alive, an intense will to live surged within him. Yet, the weight of his clothes continuously pulled him beneath the surface of San Francisco Bay. For what seemed like an eternity, he struggled to resurface briefly, gasping for air, just enough to hold on to life.

Suddenly, he felt an unusual force from below lifting him above the water's surface, where he remained until the Coast Guard arrived. It was only later that he discovered the mysterious presence keeping him afloat: a sea lion had been supporting his body until the rescue boat arrived, as eyewitnesses had observed. @morbidknowledge

In 1991, Vasile Gorgos, a 63-year-old cattle seller from rural Romania, told his family that he was heading on a business trip.

He often went on business trips to various cities in Romania to sell his cattle, so this wasn’t unusual. He left and told his family he’d be back in a couple of days, but the reality was that this was the last time his family saw him for three decades.

The family reported his disappearance to Police, but nothing ever came out of it. His family eventually assumed he had fallen victim to foul play or suffered a tragic accident.

But 30 years later in August 2021, a car stopped in front of the Gorgos' family house and dropped off Vasile, who was now aged 93.

Vasile looked to be in a clean and tidy condition, meaning wherever he had been for the last 30 years he was well taken care of.

When asked by reporters and family where he was all these years, he replied candidly, ‘I was home.'”

On November 15, 2004, Peter Porco, a 52-year-old man was found dead of massive head injuries in his home in Delmar, New York. Despite Peter's catastrophic injuries, he survived for several hours after the attack. After waking up, he carried out his morning routine before finally dying, as he had written a check for his son Christopher, made a packed lunch and attempted to load the dishwasher in the kitchen during the time before his death.

Their son Christopher was eventually charged for the crimes and sentenced to a minimum of 50 years in prison.

In 1993, a harrowing incident unfolded involving 24-year-old South African Sipho William Mdletshe and his fiancée. They were in a devastating car accident, with his fiancée surviving while Mdletshe sustained injuries so severe that the first responders on the scene believed him to be fatally wounded. Consequently, he was promptly transported to the morgue.

For 48 hours, Mdletshe endured confinement within a cold metal cabinet at the morgue. Against all odds, he miraculously regained consciousness, likely prompting him to fear the worst.

The young man began desperately crying for help and pounding on the enclosure. Eventually, mortuary workers rescued him, and he was reunited with his fiancée, who was understandably shocked to see him alive once more.
