After learning of her husband's multiple affairs, Helle Crafts went missing in November 1986. A snowplow driver later told police he'd seen Crafts's husband using a woodchipper recently in the woods, and human remains were soon found that confirmed that her body had been frozen and then put through the chipper.

Richard Crafts was found guilty of the crime and sentenced to 50 years in prison. On January 30, 2020, Richard was released from prison and sent to live at a halfway house.

Gloria Cecilia Ramirez was a woman from Riverside, California, who was dubbed "the Toxic Lady" or "the Toxic Woman" by the media when several hospital workers became ill after exposure to her body and blood.

She had been admitted to the emergency department while suffering from late-stage cervical cancer.

While treating Ramirez, several hospital workers fainted and others experienced symptoms such as shortness of breath and muscle spasms.

Five workers required hospitalization, one of whom remained in an intensive care unit for two weeks.

Shortly after arriving at the hospital, Ramirez died from complications related to cancer.

An investigation by Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory proposed that Ramirez had been self-administering dimethyl sulfoxide as a treatment for pain, which converted into dimethyl sulfate, an extremely poisonous and highly carcinogenic alkylating agent, via a series of chemical reactions in the emergency department.

A Chinese man named Li Fuyan was experiencing severe headaches and had trouble breathing for years when he finally figured he should get it checked.

It turns out that he'd been stabbed in the jaw by a robber and he'd been walking around with the rusty knife still lodged in his skull, for four years.

Doctors said it was a miracle that the four-inch knife didn't make him severely sick as it badly corroded.

In 2012, a contest held by Ben Siegel Reptiles in Florida ended in tragedy. The store organized a bug-eating competition, with the aim of consuming the most worms and discoid roaches within four minutes without vomiting. The prize at stake was an ivory ball python worth $700.

Tragically, shortly after winning, the contest's champion, Edward Archbold, collapsed and lost his life due to choking on arthropod body parts obstructing his airways.

Danny Rolling, the Gainesville Ripper, would pose his victims' bodies to accentuate the shock value. He left the head of one of his victims on a bookshelf, while her body was left in a seated position.

In total, Rolling confessed to taking the lives of eight people. For his crimes he received the lethal injection in 2006.

Don Ritchie was an Australian man who lived across the street from “the gap,” a well known cliff in Australia where many people jump and take their own life.

Throughout the five decades he lived there, he heroically intervened to save the lives of at least 160 people by engaging in conversations and welcoming them into his home for tea.

In recognition of his remarkable service, Don Ritchie received the Medal of the Order of Australia in 2006, specifically honored for his contributions to the community.

Sadly, Ritchie passed away on May 13, 2012, at the age of 85, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and lifesaving actions.

Known as the woman who lived once but was buried twice, Margorie McCall resided in the Irish town of Lurgan, County Armagh in the 17th century. McCall apparently suffered a fever in 1695 and was soon pronounced deceased.

On the day of her burial, her body was dressed up and interred at Shankill Graveyard. One night, her coffin was visited by grave robbers who dug her up to steal her valuable jewelry. While doing so, McCall suddenly awoke, scaring off her would-be robbers.

She made her way out of the grave and walked back home where, upon seeing her, her husband collapsed out of shock. McCall reportedly lived to have another child before passing on later in life.

In August 2011, Robert Young and Mark Rubinson discovered their friend Jeffrey Jarrett deceased. Instead of contacting the authorities, they removed his body along with his credit card.

They used the card to purchase food, drinks, and even spent $400 at a strip club before returning Jarrett to his bed. Subsequently, they faced charges of identity theft, criminal impersonation, and abuse of a corpse.
