When Tatanysha Hedman discovered that her husband, Vincent Phillips, abused their daughter, she took matters into her own hands and set him on fire.

The 40-year-old mother waited for her husband to fall asleep, then she poured kerosene on him and lit a match. She later admitted to police that she intentionally set him on fire because shooting him would have been "too nice”.

Sushil Sharma shot his wife Naina Sahni on July 2, 1995 due to piled up jealousy and insecurity over her friendship with a colleague.  

If this murder was not enough, Sushil took his wife’s body to a restaurant in South Delhi called Baigya.

The eatery’s manager Keshav Sharma accompanied him in his vicious plan of disposing off the corpse.

In what was described by the media as the “Tandoor Murder”, Keshav and Sushil tried burning her body in a tandoor (clay oven).

While the first autopsy revealed the cause of death to be burn injuries, the second one led police to realise that the burnt corpse actually had bullet holes in the head and neck.

Sushil Sharma confessed to the crime and was sentenced to death. His death sentence was later commuted to life, and in 2018, Sushil Sharma walked out of jail a free man, after 29 years in prison.

Keshav Sharma served just 7 years for his involvement.

3-year-old KeJuan Mason was beaten to death with a baseball bat for eating a cupcake without permission. His body was found in a ‘roach-infested’ home with bruises on his legs, back, chest, arm and head. His godmother and her sister were charged with his murder.

The last photo of Christopher McCandless found on his undeveloped camera. He died of starvation in August 1992.

McCandles ventured into the Alaskan wilderness hoping to live simply off the land. On the eastern bank of the Sushana River, McCandless found an abandoned bus, Fairbanks Bus 142, which he used as a makeshift shelter until his death.

In September, his decomposing body, weighing only 67 pounds (30 kg), was found inside the bus by a hunter. McCandless's cause of death was officially ruled to be starvation.

JoBeth Williams, the actress who falls in the pool with the skeletons, was not made aware that they were real skeletons until after she finished shooting the scene.

On May 23, 2014, 22-year-old Elliot Rodger killed six people and injured fourteen others by gunshot, stabbing and vehicle ramming near the campus of the University of California, Santa Barbara. He fatally shot himself shortly after.

A teenage boy posed on a soccer field where a few minutes later he will be crushed by a goalpost. Garret Miller was doing chin ups on the crossbar of a goalpost when it toppled over and hit him in the head, killing him.

On January 24th, 2006, Jennifer Kesse failed to report to her job in Central Florida. After further investigation, it seemed as if the 24-year-old just vanished.

Kesse was seen for the last time leaving work at approximately 6:00 pm on January 23, 2006. She spoke by phone with her father while driving home at around 6:15 pm, and then with her boyfriend at around 10:00 pm.

When Kesse failed to arrive at work the next morning, her employer contacted her parents, who set out on the two-hour drive from their home to hers. Kesse's parents noticed that her car was missing but saw nothing out of the ordinary in her home.

A wet towel and clothes laid out, among other things, suggested that she had showered, dressed, and prepared for work that morning.

With no sign of forced entry or a struggle, investigators theorized that on the morning of January 24 Kesse left her apartment for work and locked her front door, only to be abducted at some point while walking toward or getting into her car.

A few days after she vanished her car was found parked at another apartment complex about a mile from her own.

Security footage recorded a person parking Kesse's car and walking away; the person could not be identified due to poor camera quality.

Detectives interpreted the valuables left inside the car to imply that robbery was not a motive in the case. A search dog tracked a scent that led from her parked car back to her apartment complex, prompting detectives to believe that the suspect might have returned to her apartment's parking lot after abandoning the car.

Investigators also deduced that the car had been wiped down because there was a lack of DNA.

Her ex-boyfriend, who wished to get back together with her, was interrogated, but it was concluded that he had nothing to do with her abduction. Her current boyfriend was also questioned but his alibi checked out, eliminating him as a suspect.

Kesse's coworkers were also questioned as well as construction workers who catcalled her on many occasions, but nothing of substance was ever extracted from any of these individuals.

Jennifer Kesse’s case remains unsolved to this day and what happened to her is still a complete mystery.
