FII's Vs DII's Daily Activity Track for 14th January 2026 | In Equities, FNO & Futures Segment
✔️ Foreign Investors (FII's/FPI's) net sold ₹ 4,781 Crore worth of Indian Equities on January 14. At the same time, Domestic Institutional Investors (DII's) Net bought shares worth ₹ 5,217 Crore, according to provisional exchange data.

✔️ DII's purchased shares worth ₹ 19,930 Crore & sold shares worth ₹ 14,713 Crore. In contrast, FIIs' bought shares worth ₹ 13,121 Crore but sold shares totalling ₹ 17,902 Crore.
✔️ For the year so far, FII's have been net sellers of shares worth ₹ 21,702 Crore, while DII's have net bought shares worth ₹ 30,140 Crore.

Asian Markets Morning Opening Updates | Asian markets trade Higher in Morning Trade.
▪️Asian chip stocks climbed Friday, lifting several regional markets even as broader Asia-Pacific trade remained mixed.
▪️Shares of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. rose 1.48% after the company delivered another record quarter, saying it expects to boost capital spending in 2026 to between $52 billion and $56 billion.
▪️The Taiwan Weighted Index climbed 1.1%, making it the best-performing Asian market on Friday.
▪️Investors across the region were also watching chip-related stocks after the U.S. reached a trade deal with Taiwan. Under the agreement, Taiwanese semiconductor companies committed to invest at least $250 billion in U.S. production capacity in exchange for lower “reciprocal” tariffs.
▪️Japan’s Nikkei 225 slipped 0.46%, extending losses from Thursday, while the broad-based Topix was down 0.57%. Softbank Group, which has invested in various chip-related stocks, including chip designer Arm, gained 1.04%.
▪️South Korea’s Kospi was up 0.92%, while the small-cap Kosdaq was 0.59% down.
▪️Chip heavyweights Samsung Electronics & SK Hynix gained 3.44% & 0.8%, respectively.
▪️Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 rose 0.31%.
▪️Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index was up 0.68%, while the mainland’s CSI 300 added 0.57%. State-linked semiconductor foundry firm SMIC was up 1.62%.

U.S. Markets Closing Updates | The S&P 500 closes higher Thursday as Chip, Bank stocks rally
🇺🇸 The major averages climbed Thursday, rebounding from back-to-back losses as chip and bank stocks rallied.
🇺🇸 The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 292.81 points, or 0.60% to 49,442.44, boosted by gains in Goldman Sachs & Nvidia.
🇺🇸 The S&P 500 rose 0.26% to 6,944.47, while the Nasdaq Composite advanced 0.25% to 23,530.02.
🇺🇸 The major averages ended the session off their highs. Earlier in the day, the Dow was higher by 431.55 points, or 0.88%. The S&P 500 rose 0.76% & the Nasdaq had gained 1.06%.

🇺🇸 Chip plays led the market after Taiwan Semiconductor delivered another record quarter, saying it expects to boost capital spending in 2026 to between $52 billion & $56 billion an outlook signaling confidence in the artificial intelligence buildout from the world’s largest contract chipmaker. The stock jumped more than 4%. The VanEck Semiconductor ETF (SMH) climbed 2%, with Nvidia also adding 2%.
🇺🇸 Bank stocks rose following the latest raft of quarterly earnings. Goldman Sachs advanced more than 4% after its fourth-quarter profit topped Wall Street estimates. Morgan Stanley jumped nearly 6% after its wealth management unit contributed to top & bottom line beats in the fourth quarter. Both stocks touched fresh 52-week highs.
🇺🇸 A pullback in oil prices was also supportive of the market, with Brent crude oil futures & front-end West Texas Intermediate crude both sliding more than 4%.
🇺🇸 The latest economic data also pointed to a solid jobs market. Jobless claims data for the week ending Jan. 10 came in at 198,000, lower than the 215,000 expected by economists polled by Dow Jones.
🇺🇸 Thursday’s rebound comes on the heels of two straight losing sessions on Wall Street, after a spate of political headlines — concerning heightened risks in Iran & Greenland & the future of Federal Reserve independence — weighed on investor sentiment.

Indian Indices Closing Updates for 14th January 2026 | Nifty below 25,700, Sensex slips 230 pts; metal, PSU banks buck the trend
▪️Indian benchmark indices ended lower in the volatile session on January 14 with Nifty below 25700.
▪️At close, Sensex was down 244.98 points or 0.29% at 83,382.71 & Nifty was down 66.70 points or 0.26% at 25,665.60.
▪️Tata Steel, NTPC, ONGC, Axis Bank, UltraTech Cement were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were Tech Mahindra, TCS, Asian Paints, Sun Pharma, Sun Pharma.
▪️BSE Midcap & Smallcap Indices rose 0.3% each.
▪️On the sectoral front, PSU Bank, Power, Oil & Gas Index added 0.5-2%, while Auto, IT, Realty shed 0.5% each.
▪️Domestic markets remained cautious amid lingering uncertainty over the India–US trade deal, with FII's staying risk-averse.
▪️However, the restart of negotiations this week has instilled renewed hopes.
