Asian Markets Morning Opening Updates | Asian markets trade Higher in Morning Trade.
▪️Asia-Pacific markets opened mostly higher Tuesday, after AI trade lifted major Wall Street indexes overnight.
▪️Nvidia shares rose more than 1% after Reuters said the company was looking to start shipments of its H200 chips to China by mid-February. Micron Technology climbed around 4%, while Oracle advanced more than 3%.
▪️Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 rose 1.11% and is on pace for a fourth straight day of gains.
▪️Japan’s Nikkei 225 was flat, while the broad-based Topix saw a larger gain of 0.56%, led by financials & healthcare stocks.
▪️South Korea’s KOSPI climbed 0.43%, but the Small-cap KOSDAQ slipped 0.79%.
▪️Shares of shipbuilding firm Hanwha Ocean surged 10% after U.S. President Donald Trump said the company was going to work with the U.S. Navy to build its new frigates.
▪️Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index rose 0.1%, while mainland China’s CSI 300 was up 0.35%.
▪️Chinese newcomers lit up the Hong Kong market on their debut Tuesday, with QingSong Health Corporation and Nuobikan Artificial Intelligence Technology jumping 134% & 323%, respectively, after their strong albeit small IPOs.
▪️QingSong Health Corporation’s Hong Kong IPO was met with overwhelming demand, with the domestic tranche subscribed 1,421 times, according to its exchange filing, raising nearly 602 million Hong Kong dollars (about $77 million). Nuobikan, saw its Hong Kong public tranche subscribed 188.74 times, raising HK$303 million.
▪️In Southeast Asia, Singapore will release its November inflation reading, with economists polled by Reuters expecting the city-state’s inflation rate to climb to the highest in 2025.

U.S. Markets Closing Updates | S&P 500 posts third-straight winning day, buoyed by AI trade
🇺🇸 The S&P 500 rose on Monday, supported by a rise in artificial intelligence names, to start a shortened holiday week.
🇺🇸 The broad market index gained 0.64% to reach 6,878.49, posting its third positive day in a row.
🇺🇸 The Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 227.79 points, or 0.47% to finish at 48,362.68.
🇺🇸 The Nasdaq Composite climbed 0.52% to 23,428.83.
🇺🇸 Key stocks linked to artificial intelligence offered a boost to the broader market. Nvidia shares moved higher by more than 1% after Reuters said the company is looking to begin shipments of its H200 chips to China by mid-February. Meanwhile, Micron Technology grew around 4%, while Oracle advanced more than 3%.

🇺🇸 Wall Street is coming off a mixed week for the major averages. A late-week surge in tech stocks helped lift the S&P 500 &Nasdaq Composite to their third positive week in four. The 30-stock Dow, which has outperformed this month, snapped a three-week winning streak.

🇺🇸 Wall Street is confident the bull market can continue for another year, albeit not as strong as this one has been, according to the 2026 CNBC Market Strategist Survey. On average, strategists expect the S&P 500 can end next year at 7,629, a level representing 11.6% upside from current levels. The target is a bit higher on a median basis: 7,650, or a roughly 13% rise.
🇺🇸 Those expected gains are stronger than what strategists estimated coming into this year, though 2025 has blown away expectations. As the year draws to a close, the S&P 500 is on the precipice of netting a “three-peat,” having rallied 24% in 2023 & 23% in 2024. As of Friday’s close, the S&P 500 is up more than 15% in 2025, having risen to all-time highs in defiance of tariff concerns & fears of an AI bubble. This month, the index closed above 6,900 for the first time.
🇺🇸 “After 3 years >20% yearly gains, bull market still alive,” Fundstrat head of research Tom Lee wrote in a note earlier this month. “The significant ‘Wall of Worry’ is a tailwind for bull market.”
