The Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia, wishes to inform the public as well as members of national and international media as follows:

On Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 8:04 AM, the Cambodian Liaison Group (CLG) of the Kingdom of Cambodia, facilitated a field mission for the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT), led by the Head of Mission (HOM AOT) under the Philippine Chairmanship. The objective was to observe, verify, and report on the border situation in the at An Ses Border Checkpoint, Choam Ksan District, Preah Vihear Province. This area was subjected to incursions, the installation of barbed wire, and the illegal deployment of shipping containers by the Thai military—actions that continue to prevent numerous Cambodian families from returning to their homes. The mission also reviewed compliance with and implementation of all measures outlined in the Joint Statement after the ceasefire came into effect.

The ASEAN Observer Team’s inspection of the aforementioned sovereign Cambodian territory currently under illegal Thai occupation underscores the absolute necessity for the Cambodia-Thailand Joint Boundary Commission (JBC) to commence land demarcation work as soon as possible. This aligns with the existing framework stipulated in Point 3 of the Joint Statement of the 3rd Special Meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) dated December 27, 2025, which aims to ensure that our citizens can safely, peacefully, and with dignity return to their homes without any obstruction.

The Royal Government and the Ministry of National Defence of Cambodia reaffirm our firm, sincere, and unwavering commitment to fully and faithfully respect and implement the Joint Statement of the Third Special Meeting of the Cambodia–Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) on December 27, 2025, the Joint Declaration on the Peace Agreement between Cambodia and Thailand on October 26,  2025, and all other relevant agreements. This commitment is made with the aim of ensuring rapid recovery and restoring normalcy, and long-lasting peace and stability.

The public, as well as national and international journalists, are hereby informed of the facts regarding this matter.

ឯកឧត្តម ឧត្តមសេនីយ៍ឯក រ៉ាត់ ដារ៉ារ័ត្ន រដ្ឋលេខាធិការក្រសួងការពារជាតិ តំណាងដ៏ខ្ពង់ខ្ពស់ ឯកឧត្តម នាយឧត្តមសេនីយ៍ ទៀ សីហា ឧបនាយករដ្ឋមន្ត្រី រដ្ឋមន្ត្រីក្រសួងការពារជាតិ បានទទួលជួបសម្តែងការគួរសម និងពិភាក្សាការងារជាមួយ ឯកឧត្តម HAYASHI Teiji ឯកអគ្គរាជទូតជប៉ុនទទួលបន្ទុកកិច្ចសហប្រតិបត្តិការមេគង្គ នៃក្រសួងការបរទេសជប៉ុន។

ក្នុងជំនួបនេះ ភាគីទាំងពីរបានផ្លាស់ប្ដូរយោបល់លើការពង្រឹង និងពង្រីកកិច្ចសហប្រតិបត្តិការការពារជាតិរវាងកម្ពុជា និងជប៉ុន ព្រមទាំងបន្តលើកកម្ពស់ទំនាក់ទំនងមិត្តភាព និងភាពជាដៃគូដ៏ល្អប្រសើររវាងប្រទេសទាំងពីរ។

ក្នុងឱកាសនោះ ឯកឧត្តម រដ្ឋលេខាធិការ ក៏បានជម្រាបជូនអំពីស្ថានការណ៍តាមបណ្តោយព្រំដែនកម្ពុជា–ថៃ និងបានបញ្ជាក់ជាថ្មីនូវការប្ដេជ្ញាចិត្តរបស់កម្ពុជា ក្នុងការដោះស្រាយបញ្ហាដោយសន្តិវិធី ស្របតាមច្បាប់អន្តរជាតិ និងកិច្ចព្រមព្រៀងដែលមានស្រាប់ និងបានថ្លែងអំណរគុណដែលជប៉ុនតែងតែអញ្ជើញចូលរួមក្នុងការបំពេញបេសកកម្មរបស់ប្រទេសសមាជិកក្រុមអនុព័ន្ធយោធាបរទេស (MACPP) ប្រចាំព្រះរាជាណាចក្រកម្ពុជា ចុះសង្កេតការណ៍ស្ថានការណ៍នៃការគោរព និងអនុវត្តបទឈប់បាញ់រវាង កម្ពុជា-ថៃ។

ជាការឆ្លើយតប ឯកឧត្តម HAYASHI ក៏បានបញ្ជាក់អំពីឆន្ទៈរបស់រដ្ឋាភិបាលជប៉ុនក្នុងការគាំទ្រកិច្ចប្រឹងប្រែងក្នុងការដោះស្រាយវិវាទកម្ពុជា-ថៃ ដោយសន្តិវិធី និងធ្វើឱ្យមានប្រក្រតីភាពទំនាក់ទំនងទ្វេភាគីឡើងវិញ។


H.E. Lieutenant General Rath Dararoth, Secretary of State of the Ministry of National Defence, on behalf of H.E. General Tea Seiha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence, received a courtesy call from and held a working meeting with H.E. Mr. HAYASHI Teiji, Ambassador for Mekong Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on strengthening and expanding defence cooperation between Cambodia and Japan, while continuing to promote the friendship and excellent partnership between the two countries.
On that occasion, H.E. Secretary of State Rath Dararoth briefed the Japanese side on the situation along the Cambodia–Thailand border and reaffirmed Cambodia’s commitment to resolving issues through peaceful means in accordance with international law and existing agreements. He also expressed appreciation for Japan’s continued participation in observation missions conducted by the Military Attaché Corps Phnom Penh (MACPP) in the Kingdom of Cambodia to monitor the situation regarding compliance with and implementation of the ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand.

In response, H.E. Mr. HAYASHI Teiji reaffirmed the Japanese Government’s willingness to support efforts aimed at the peaceful resolution of the Cambodia–Thailand dispute and the restoration of normal bilateral relations between the two countries.
