A Crumbling Relic of Old Iran Reborn as Arts Hub

Hidden behind imposing brick walls in the heart of Tehran, a renovated industrial cellar where decades ago Iranian beer was made, has been transformed into a hub for contemporary art. The ambitious restoration of the derelict Argo factory has made it becomes one of the most beautiful buildings of Tehran. The director of the Pejman foundation which renovated the building said restoring Argo would encourage others to preserve similar buildings, historically and culturally significant areas.

Flower show at the Victoria Park in Hong Kong

The 10-day Hong Kong Flower Show opened on 14th March at Victoria Park. Featuring an exuberant array of blooms from around the world, the floral exhibition has drawn not just locals but also tourists. This year’s floral display is themed “Ablaze with Glory”, featuring 238 organizations which include 81 exhibitors from 11 other countries. The flower show runs until 23rd March. Free admission for senior citizens and the disabled from Monday through Friday.

Return of ancient artifacts to Turkiye

The head of a Statue of Roman Emperor Septimius Severus, dating back to the 3rd century AD, smuggled from Turkiye have been returned from Denmark’s Glyptotek Museum. Speaking at a handover ceremony at the Antalya Archaeology Museum, the Culture and Tourism Minister said the artifacts originated from the ancient city of Boubon in Burdur, a city in southwestern Turkiye, as well as from Duver village. Along with Severus’ head, 48 terracotta architectural plaques and statue fragments were also returned to Turkiye.
