The 87th Kayin National New Year Festival was celebrated in full swing at the Union National Races Village in Thaketa Township, Yangon Region on December 30th. This year marked the 2,764th year of the Kayin Era and the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement. Kayin nationals and visitors alike gathered to celebrate, soaking in the vibrant energy of the festival.There were traditional sports competitions, beautiful Kayin songs and a variety of Kayin traditional dances, everything from the Don dance to the bamboo dance. The 1st waxing day of Pyatho, which marks the Kayin New Year, was a time for everyone to come together with pride and patriotism.
