Sweet Deals by France's Most Famous Pastry Chefs

Chocolate artworks by some of France's
most famous pastry chefs were sold at auction
for more than €100,000 in a charity event.
The Paris auction, organized by the pastry chef Pierre Herme,
featured featured works by 25 celebrated pastry chefs,
including Herme, Patrick Roger, Cyril Lignac, and Nina Metayer.
The pieces are all edible, though the chefs created them
to be displayed. Many of the chefs paired their creations
with one-of-a-kind experiences.

by the UN World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO)

International Mountain Day (11th December 2025)

Theme: "Glaciers Matter for Water, Food and Livelihoods in Mountains and Beyond".

The theme calls for immediate measures to avoid the glaciers’ disappearance. For many Indigenous Peoples, glaciers are sacred, and their disappearance signifies a loss of identity and connection to nature.
Glaciers and ice sheets hold around 70 percent of the world's freshwater. Their accelerated melting represents not only an environmental crisis, but a humanitarian one, threatening agriculture, clean energy, water security and billions of peoples’ lives.

Turkish Handmade Crafts in Burdur

Hasan Balar, a master of woodcarving from Burdur of Turkiye,
keeps traditional Turkish craftsmanship alive
by decorating canes and gourds with culturally rich motifs.
Inspired by the renowned Devrek cane,
an iconic example of meticulous woodwork,
76-year-old Hasan Balar began crafting canes in his hometown.
He converted part of his home into a workshop,
where he engraves regional figures and traditional patterns onto canes,
dried gourds, and wooden plaques.

Alanya Anchovy Festival, lively event on Black Sea Shore

The Alanya district of Antalya,
located on Türkiye’s Mediterranean coast, turned
into a lively Black Sea shore as it hosted
the third edition of the Anchovy Festival.
Drawing a crowd of nearly 80,000 people,
the event featured the free distribution of 7 tons of anchovies,
creating a festive atmosphere enriched

Faberge's Rare Winter Egg Fetches Record $30 Million at Auction

Faberge's The Winter Egg, considered one of his most beautiful creations,
sold for nearly $30 million at auction Tuesday in London,
smashing the sales record
for the legendary jeweller of Imperial Russia.
The winter egg is truly one of the rarest items that can be found.
Fabergé created only 50 imperial Easter eggs
for the Romanov family over the period of 31 years.
And out of those 50, only 43 still exist, so seven are missing.
Out of those 43, only seven left in private hands.

Autumn Colors at Tokyo’s Imperial Palace

The general public can now enjoy autumn foliage
inside the grounds of Tokyo’s Imperial Palace.
The 600-meter-long Inui-dori, a street that runs
through the palace grounds, is open to the public
for nine days through December 7. The avenue is lined
with about 70 maple trees of eight different varieties.
The Imperial Household Agency says
after a long spell of unseasonably warm weather,
maple leaves started to change color around mid-November.
Families and foreign tourists were seen strolling
along the road while taking photos.
