Darwin Xmas parade

Christmas arrived early in Darwin, lighting up the city streets
with colourful floats and handmade costumes.
Each year, local schools, artists, and community groups come together,
drawing thousands to the festive pageant.
Despite storm clouds looming, the rain held off as marchers made
their way from the esplanade to Civic Park, cycling, skating,
and driving into the holiday spirit.
Some floats celebrated culture, others showcased Australian wildlife,
and the parade ended with Santa Claus delighting the crowds.

Sweet Deals by France's Most Famous Pastry Chefs

Chocolate artworks by some of France's
most famous pastry chefs were sold at auction
for more than €100,000 in a charity event.
The Paris auction, organized by the pastry chef Pierre Herme,
featured featured works by 25 celebrated pastry chefs,
including Herme, Patrick Roger, Cyril Lignac, and Nina Metayer.
The pieces are all edible, though the chefs created them
to be displayed. Many of the chefs paired their creations
with one-of-a-kind experiences.

International Mountain Day (11th December 2025)

Theme: "Glaciers Matter for Water, Food and Livelihoods in Mountains and Beyond".

The theme calls for immediate measures to avoid the glaciers’ disappearance. For many Indigenous Peoples, glaciers are sacred, and their disappearance signifies a loss of identity and connection to nature.
Glaciers and ice sheets hold around 70 percent of the world's freshwater. Their accelerated melting represents not only an environmental crisis, but a humanitarian one, threatening agriculture, clean energy, water security and billions of peoples’ lives.

Hasan Balar, a master of woodcarving from Burdur of Turkiye,
keeps traditional Turkish craftsmanship alive

Inspired by the renowned Devrek cane,
an iconic example of meticulous woodwork,
76-year-old Hasan Balar began crafting canes in his hometown.
He converted part of his home into a workshop,
