Egypt has staged a lavish official opening ceremony for the Grand Egyptian Museum, located close to the famous Pyramids of Giza. The museum has been partially open to the public since last year, but will be officially and fully opened only now after years of delay. Local fabrics, fibres shine at eco-centred Lagos Fashion Week
Nigerian designer Abasiekeme Ukanireh has built her brand Eki Kere around one guiding principle: sustainability. At this year’s Lagos Fashion Week, her eco-conscious collection blends environmental awareness with a distinctly Nigerian identity, using everything from locally woven fabrics to natural, upcycled materials. Netflix announced a ten-for-one stock split, a major move aimed at making its shares more affordable for retail investors. This means that for every single share currently held, shareholders will receive nine additional shares after the close of trading on November 10th. The company says this decision is designed to make its stock more accessible not just to everyday investors, but also to employees who participate in its stock option program. Trading in the split-adjusted shares is set to begin at market open on November 17th.
