Asuka revives ancient masked dance

In Japan’s western prefecture of Nara,
villagers revived the ancient masked dance drama ‘gigaku’,
parading through Asuka in colorful costumes
to the sound of drums and flutes.
Introduced from the continent around 1,400 years ago
during the Asuka Period, gigaku features performers wearing
masks depicting birds, lions, and other figures.
About 50 participants showcased the dance at Asukadera Temple,
a sixth-century landmark.

S. Korea’s Highest Semiconductor Exports

Ywar Ngan township belongs to Danu self-administered region of Taunggyi district in Shan State. Egypt opens the tomb of Pharaoh Amenhotep III to public

The tomb of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, one of the largest in southern Egypt's Valley of the Kings and Queens, was officially opened to the public after years of restoration, along with the newly refurbished site, which dates back more than 3,000 years. Restoration involved more than two decades of incredibly delicate work because the tomb was suffering severe deterioration. The site was first documented in 1799 during the brief Napoleonic conquest of Egypt. After a long history of excavation, looting and heavy damage, it was restored with support from the Japanese government and UNESCO.
