Czech Village celebrates Shrovetide Carnival
The annual Shrovetide procession, inscribed in the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage, parades through the town of Vortova in the central Czech Region of Hlinecko. Participants are split into groups wearing costumes which are supposed to depict mares, knackers, Jews, Turks and chimney sweepers, and visit households in the village. Each group has a role, with the knackers checking the condition of all animals as well as the inhabitants themselves, while the chimney sweepers smear people's faces with soot. The procession ends with a slaughter of the mare and a dance.

Turkiye to showcase rare Chinese ceramics
Istanbul’s Topkapi Palace Museum is expanding its cultural offerings later this year with a brand-new museum dedicated to porcelain, showcasing a stunning collection including rare Chinese ceramics. The new museum will showcase over 4,500 rare porcelain artifacts from the Topkapi Palace Museum's collection, including 1,442 prized Chinese pieces. Among these are 40 Chinese ceramics from the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368), including large plates, bowls, and bottles.
