Enthusiasts Gather for Mosul Pigeon Festival
Midyat, a district in Turkiye’s Mardin province, hosted the first-ever “Midyat-Mosul Pigeon Festival,” bringing together pigeon enthusiasts from across the country and abroad. The event took place on May 24th and 25th at the Youth and Culture Center in Midyat. The festival featured competitions in 15 categories, showcasing various breeds of Mosul pigeons. Winners in each category were awarded trophies, medals, and prizes for their outstanding birds.

People clad in samurai armor have mounted horses and competed to catch airborne flags as part of a traditional festival in Japan’s northeastern prefecture of Fukushima. The annual Soma Nomaoi festival is said to date back more than a millennium. The three-day event has been designated by the government as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property. The bread was charred and buried under the entrance of a dwelling built around 3,300 BC. Round and flat like a pancake, and five inches in diameter, the bread was discovered during excavations at Kulluoba, a site near the central Anatolian city of Eskisehir.

Horse races were also held at the festival, which started early in the morning. In the evening, a youth walk was organized. There were plenty of photo opportunities for nature lovers, and the inverted tulip was the focus of many photo shoots.

"Djerbahood", Tunisia's open-air street art museum
In the quiet village of Erriadh, far from the busy beaches of Djerba, colors came to life. The old walls, once plain and still, became a canvas for dreams. In 2014, artists from thirty countries gathered here, bringing paint, passion, and stories from around the world. With over 4,500 cans of spray paint, they created more than 250 murals, on doors, arches, rooftops and narrow streets. "Djerbahood", Tunisia's open-air street art museum
In the quiet village of Erriadh, far from the busy beaches of Djerba, colors came to life. The old walls, once plain and still, became a canvas for dreams. In 2014, artists from thirty countries gathered here, bringing paint, passion, and stories from around the world. With over 4,500 cans of spray paint, they created more than 250 murals, on doors, arches, rooftops and narrow streets.
