If you want to know yourself, do this.

Start writing in your journal.
It's not easy.
You don't really know how to do it.
And you get lost.
I've been there.

The easiest way to start a journal is to make lists.
The lists seem basic and yet.

It is one of the best ways to go deep inside yourself and find your answers.

I've put together some of the lists I've used.
I just suggest you do the exercise.

And if you answer everything.
To tell me how many pages you could fill in.

About Yourself

List of
- the feelings you have right now
- your qualities
- your faults
- things you want to change to be happier
- the things that scare you the most
- the emotions that control you
- values that you wish to respect
- things that make you easily angered

About Life

List of

- the happiest moments of your life
- things you are most grateful for
- of the worst moments of your life
- things to do to build your perfect life
- moments that have greatly influenced your life
- things to do to solve your problems

About Love

- reasons why some past relationship didn't work out

Our problem today is that we never stop.

If we don't even take the time to stop and think about what we want.
How to go looking for what we need.

We are no better than wandering vagabonds.

The quickest way to stop a chain of thought is โ€” to get out of your head and into your body.

Your body is breathing for you โ€” be aware of that sensation.

Right now focus on your breathing โ€” breathe inโ€ฆand out.

Your chain of negative thoughts will be broken โ€” but you will feel uneasy.

Your mind is craving for distraction, it isnโ€™t used to having a moment of peace.

But if you master awareness โ€” no negative thoughts will be able to overwhelm you.

The second key is to change the content you consume.

Your thoughts are based on the movies, tv shows, music, conversations, you consume โ€” choose wisely.

Rather than sadness, you should focus on the positives more.

3. Find the silver lining.

Adapt your beliefs to empower you instead of having them destroy you.

4. Consume more positive content.

Find good articles that uplift you, make you feel better.

5. Direct your action to a positive experience, which will develop a positive belief.

6. Do meditation or yoga every day.

Yoga is very relaxing, which helps ease your mind.

7. Be open to humor in all situations, especially the difficult ones, just laugh.

Respect yourself enough to get out of relationships that don't serve you anymore.

If you donโ€™t give your mind a problem to solve, it will create one for you.

START DOING!

You canโ€™t think your way of overthinking. You need to do something.

The only thinking you need to be doing if you are struggling with overthinking is:

Ask yourself,

"Whatโ€™s one thing I can do today, to take a step towards my goal?"

Write that down and go do it.

Donโ€™t spend any more time in your head thinking about how to get rid of overthinking because of that won't help, you have been doing that for a while, right?

Don't disappear for 6 months.

Eliminate the things that don't contribute to your growth and happiness again.

If you go from one extreme to the other, you will get burned out.

You won't make progress and you won't change anything.

You'll face resistance to change.

And you'll make it about how people see you.

Don't do that.

You'll slip back to your old habits.

Instead, gradually improve your surroundings and habits.

Change small things, one by one until everything is different.
