Today I saw someone I knew as a medical student at Tikur Anbessa… now he’s studying psychology and doing programming on the side. Honestly, it surprised me.

It made me think — these days a lot of people see dropping out as a shortcut to success. But I don’t think it works like that.

Success is more about discipline, managing your time, and actually knowing what you want.

Right now coding feels “trendy,” like how everyone used to want to be a doctor. But jumping in without direction won’t take you far.

If you don’t have a clear plan, dropping out isn’t the answer. Build your discipline first, focus on your education, and grow your skills.

Then when the right opportunity comes, you’ll know what to do.(yeah if necessary dropping out)

My introverted self screams for me to keep my anonymity in this channel, but that's no way to grow ryt? What's the point if no one knows who's behind the masterpieces, the beginner mistakes, the thought drops and confusions? 😌😭

Anyway, to introduce myself: my name is Niyat, and I'm a second-year Software Engineering student at AAU. When it comes to who I am as a developer, I'm a wanderer, the kind of person who does "a little bit of this, a little bit of that." I mean... the fact that I started my frontend developer journey in 2023 and am still intermediate at best speaks volumes. 😂 I finished HTML and went to Python in the same week, then abandoned it for matric studies...all in August 2023 BTW 😭 So, if I'm being honest, I'm a:

- Beginner in Python 🐍
- Beginner in Java ☕️
- Beginner in the MERN stack

But that's not the way to go, gang. I'm onto mastering one thing at least, so I'm doing MERN. 🚀

So this is me: a "book-smart" wanderer aiming to go beyond studying for grades. 📖

I like archery, definitely a sport I'd love to pursue, hence the Artemis. And... hot take: I liked Java better than Python 😭🙏🏽
