If you are a "realist" and say that "Russia invading Ukraine is just the kind of thing that Great Powers do," that's true. That's "real."

But if in your next breath, you say that the Ukrainians should not try to enter NATO and the EU, that's not "realism": because small countries also band together to resist Great Powers. That too is the truth. That is "real." Instead, you are advancing a NORM, which just happens to reflect what the Russians prefer in this crisis.

If in your next breath, you say that the Ukrainians should just surrender, because nothing is worse than the loss of life, that's not realism either, because soldiers think in terms of laying down their lives for their countries. Instead, you are advancing a NORM, a norm that just so happens to be what the Russians want Ukrainians to believe.

If in your next breath, you say that the United States and the EU shouldn't interfere, well that's not realism, right? Isn't competing with other Great Powers precisely what Great Powers do? So you have slipped in another NORM. Basically, you are arguing that Russian aggression should be tolerated because that's what Great Powers do. But Europe and the US should not act like Great Powers. They should mind their own business. Coincidentally, this norm is exactly what the Russians prefer.

Is it really a coincidence that "realism" translates into letting the Russians have their way? Or is this line of argument manufactured in Moscow and propagated into the American Right, from Pat Buchanan all the way to the Dissident Right?

It’s difficult for me to comment on today's events in Mariupol, because enemy aircraft don’t stop the bombing even for a moment. They’re destroying everything that has survived in this city. Their artillery and MLRS works. Tanks around the city shoot just passers-by. People are dying under the rubble, people are dying under the direct impact of air bombs. Putin's bastards are taking over hospitals, taking hostages, disguising themselves in civilian clothes, drawing red crosses on their cars, in violation of all international conventions.

At 3:30 p.m., a column of those who managed to get out of the city in their own vehicles was shot from "Grad" near Zaporizhia. The symbol of Mariupol, the Drama Theater, where 1,000 civilians were hiding, was destroyed. And it was done deliberately. They knew there were civilians. They also bombed the Neptune pool, where pregnant women with children hid and there were also many civilians. I don’t know why the world allows them to commit such terrible crimes. This is genocide! Genocide against the people of Ukraine! Against the Nation! They sow terror, they sow fear. But they also sowed hatred that would last for centuries.

I want the whole Ukraine to know that the defenders of this city, the military, are not just fulfilling their duty to defend the motherland, but a thousand times more.

They beat the enemy with their last ounce of strength. They beat the enemy without pity, without a doubt. Even the devils are turning over in hell! How many enemy equipment was burned and how many enemy infantry were killed? No one even counts anymore.

I know only one thing - we’re not going to forgive these bastards for what they’re doing to Ukraine! I want the whole world to hear this: Mariupol is Ukraine! The Azov Regiment and other defenders are doing everything possible to protect the city.

According to the information coming from the sources in Mariupol, heroic "Azov" fighters annihilated 18 putinists from the special (anti)elite FSB/KGB "Vympel" squad. If proven, this means the most dramatic defeat and maximum casualities ever during the whole 40+ years of this "elite" KGB squad history. Glory to the Heroes!

At the time when I am talking to you, street fights in the city are going on. Enemy aircraft and artillery are working non-stop. The city is leveled to the ground. The orcs shoot those who were connected with the army. People are being taken hostage. The process of dismantling of the Drama Theater debris in Mariupol is going on. The number of people died from the cynical crime of the Russian Federation is still unknown. Defenders of the city continue the heroic struggle. Courageously hold the defense. Including fighting with trophy weapons.

We are waiting for the main forces arrival of and the city unblocking. The Ukrainian army destroys a dozen armored vehicles and many enemy manpower daily.

I want the whole Ukraine to be proud of the heroic struggle of the city's defenders and tell about it to the whole world.

I emphasize on the fact that Putin needs Mariupol to show the weakness of our state.

I emphasize that Putin needs Mariupol to hide the real number of civilian casualties. After all, everything that is told to you is different from reality.
