The Wisconsin Air National Guard’s 115th Fighter Wing announced today the death of an F-16 pilot who crashed in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula Dec. 8. Per Department of Defense policy, the 115th Fighter Wing will not release the pilot’s identity until 24 hours after notifying the service member’s next of kin. “We are deeply saddened by this tragic loss; our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time,” 115th Fighter Wing commander Col. Bart Van Roo said. “Today is a day for mourning, the 115th Fighter Wing and the entire Wisconsin National Guard stands with the pilot’s family as we grieve the loss of a great Airman, and patriot.” #RIP

In a surprising move, the Pentagon has told the Central Intelligence Agency that it plans to end the majority of the military support it provides to the agency's counterterrorism missions by Jan. 5, according to a former senior administration intelligence official.

It is unclear how the decision would impact the spy agency's worldwide counterterrorism missions that often rely on the U.S. military for logistical support and personnel.

The CIA's Special Activities Center carries out covert operations and has its own paramilitary force that carries out counterterrorism operations. While they act as an independent force, they often rely on the military for transportation and logistical support.

Kyle Biedermann, a Republican who represents district 73 in the Texas House of Representatives, made the announcement on his Twitter and Facebook accounts on Tuesday with the hashtag “Texit.”

“The federal government is out of control and does not represent the values of Texans. That is why I am committing to file legislation this session that will allow a referendum to give Texans a vote for the State of Texas to reassert its status as an independent nation,” Biedermann said.
Biedermann said his proposed legislation “perfectly aligns” with Article 1, Section 2 of the Texas Constitution.

Michigan GOP leader threatens Dominion CEO with subpoena if he fails to appear before committee

A top Republican in the Michigan House of Representatives is threatening to subpoena the CEO of Dominion Voting Systems if he does not appear before an oversight committee investigating the company election software during Election Day 2020.

“We are able to accommodate testimony via Zoom,” he also wrote, “so scheduling such an appearance should not be too burdensome.”
