#Position: Advocacy Office Intern

#Qualification: Undergraduate degree in Law, Social Sciences, Education, or equivalent work experience in research, writing and dissemination of key messages in the African context.

Excellent oral and written communication in English

Experience in working with civil society organization, African Union, governmental and non-governmental bodies particularly on issues related to children.

Minimum one year of policy research and or advocacy experience

Experience working and supporting the organization of policy forums/meetings.

This role has been created as an opportunity to expand the knowledge and understanding of children rights and wellbeing of African young people and develop their advocacy and policy research capacity.
The role holder will work as part of the African Union Advocacy Office team based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. S/he will support the development and delivery of advocacy content and messaging in coordination with the advocacy team. S/he will provide the office with policy research support, draft advocacy briefs and talking points on priority issues in coordination with the advocacy office staff. S/he will also be expected to participate in, and on other occasions represent the office in external information gathering and lobby meetings.

A work plan, as well as a learning and development plan, will be agreed with the fellow during the induction period.
