"I was really broken. I even thought of ending my life," recounted Bruce Lim, 54.
Bruce was a man hardened by drug addiction and repeated incarceration. A Primary Six drop-out and with a first arrest for theft at 16, he tells the story of how God transformed him and used him as a youth pastor, and to reach out to drug addicts and others trapped by their addictions and circumstances.

The April issue of Methodist Message is out!
· Tending a garden taught me rest, healing and trusting God
For Dennis, tending an overgrown garden led him to slow down, adapt to creation’s pace, be drawn back to God, and restored toward wholeness. This article offers a fresh, honest glimpse of our place in God’s creation.
· Finding peace amidst conflict
Rev Raymond Fong, Pastor-in-Charge at Wesley Methodist Church, offers a pastoral perspective on navigating uncertain times and how we can be God’s peacemakers despite the conflict.
· New principals at three Methodist schools
We welcomed three new principals to our Methodist schools at the start of the year. Read their personal vision for the students and how the environment we provide together may help to nurture and shape the generations to come.

Psalm 24:1 (NIV) says that “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it,” so we are but caretakers of what ultimately belongs to God.
In this age of climate change, Bishop Philip Lim reminds us that “When we behave as owners, we consume without restraint. When we see ourselves as stewards, we ask how our choices affect soil, sea, sky and all living creatures. The lens shifts from careless consumption to responsible consideration. Christian stewardship recognises that creation is not disposable; it is declared 'very good' (Genesis 1:31)”.
As we consider how we live on this earth, may we remember that "to practise stewardship today is to live with gratitude and restraint: reducing waste, supporting humane practices, protecting habitats and remembering that creation is not ours to dominate. It is God's to delight in."

Professor Emeritus of Systematic Theology at Trinity Theological College, Mark L. Y. To steward means to manage, supervise, or look after something responsibly — implying careful, protective oversight, often for future generations or on behalf of another party.
But somewhere along the way, our "dominion" over creation became permission to consume without consequence. Ann Sze from Faith Methodist Church reminds us that "God assigned humanity a role as caretakers of this earth, His creation."
