Recently, I was made aware of footage showing that the alleged person being launched from the South Tower is likely just a coat. I compare this with an actual 9/11 jumper (who likely was stil launched against his will), and it is clear that the person moves downwards much faster than the coat.

The Lorentz force is the force exerted on a charged particle by electric and magnetic fields, and is proportional to the signed charge q. The electric force acts in the direction of the electric field for positive charges and opposite the field for negative charges. The magnetic force is perpendicular to both the particle's velocity and the magnetic field (hence the cross product), and also reverses if the charge is negative.

In this video, I examine projectile motion launched from the origin and show that the projectile will always lie within a parabola defined by launching a projectile from the maximum height horizontally at the same initial velocity. I also show that if we are to aim directly at a target downrange and drop the target at the same instance of firing the projectile, then we will always hit our target!
