This is a sound delay analysis I made of the Kevin Westley 2nd "plane" footage.
Using an estimate of the height and distance at the first instance that the 2nd "plane" is captured on camera, I then calculate the diagonal height (using trigonometry) and do the same for the distance to the impact zone on the South Tower. Using the standard speed of sound, I estimated the sound delay and then applied a correction after measuring the explosion sound delay.
From this, the sound delay at the first instance of the "plane" is approximately 1.87 seconds. This means that the initial sound picked up by the camera when the "plane" is in view is delayed by almost 2 seconds and is from when the "plane" was 1,600 ft further back.

The timing of the explosions (and hole formations) in each tower on 9/11 was of utmost importance to get approximately in line with the fast-moving objects, aka "planes".
One possible mechanism of achieving this timing is similar to that of an electric fly swatter, in which a fly gets electrified with high voltage right as it hits the metal grid of the fly swatter. Interestingly, the Twin Towers were literally giant steel grids.
This reminds me of the Zelda video game in which an electric field is generated, and when an arrow strikes an object within the field, a massive lightning strike blasts it.
