Good morning, #MerryExploring’s fam 🤗
Merry has been away for a few days, but she’s finally back and sorry for disappearing for a while.
I’ve been working on some exciting products that I’ll be sharing with you soon, and I really hope you’ll love them. Besides development, I also want to reconnect with the old days when I used to sketch a lot.
So, I’m challenging myself to create one simple sketch every day for a month and share my progress here.
If you’re interested in art, I’d absolutely love for you to join me on this journey 🎨✨

Sometimes, what you see doesn’t satisfy your vision. What you hear makes you regret being there, and what you failed to do when you had the chance makes you regret everything :(

OK the feminine side of me made me write this
I remember when my mom’s friend say when I tell her I wanna study for my master’s , “ትምርት አታብዢ ባል አታገኚም.”
I though this is ያረጀ ያፈጀ አስተሳሰብ
but nah… some people still get uncomfortable when a woman is confident, independent, expressive, successful, or visible.
Like suddenly being smart, making money, speaking your mind, and handling your own problems makes you “not wife material”
Some people really want women to stay quiet, dependent, less ambitious, less outspoken… basically easy to control
But when a woman breaks that mold, builds her own life, makes her own money, speaks confidently, and stands on her own feet, they call it “too much” instead of calling it strength.
And honestly? Being independent doesn’t make a woman less feminine or harder to love it just means she can survive with or without help. That should be respected, not feared.
So my girlies pls don’t shrink yourself to fit somebody else’s comfort zone. Study, get the degree, get the money, be soft, be feminine, be confident, be YOU.
Anyway this is not personal just something I felt after observing some stuff today. If you’re offended… idk ma guy

Guess who dusted off her pencils and came back to sketching 📓✏️☺️
It’s been yearsss since I last drew anything, and honestly getting back to my old hobbies feels way too good 😭🤍
This is Day 1/30, so please don’t judge the drawing too hard… I can already see thousand flaws and a few crimes against anatomy 💀
Anywaysss, see you tomorrow with another beautifully messed up masterpiece 👩🏽🎨

Introducing ICare
I built ICare because I spend most of my day staring at a screen and kept forgetting to take breaks until my eyes started hurting.
ICare reminds you to follow the 20-20-20 rule by nudging you every 20 minutes to look away from your screen for 20 seconds. If you're really stubborn, Smart Eye Mode can block your screen for 20 seconds and force the break
To make things more fun, I added:
- Analytics to track your habits
- Streaks and badges to keep you motivated
- Different popup personalities
- A Savage Mode that might roast you for ignoring your eye health
I wanted ICare to be simple, useful, and a little entertaining.
I've been using it myself, and it's already helping me build healthier screen habits. I hope it helps you too.
GitHub repo: https://github.com/Lozaashenafi/Icare
If you try it out, I'd love to hear your feedback.
