To become the kind of man God has ordained you to become, you must understand the specific plan God ORDAINED for you. This can be done when you pay attention to God's personal dealing with you via His Word.
Your first responsibility is to dwell in the presence of God. Your second responsibility is to submit to the instructions of the Father. Your third responsibility is to discover your dream (your calling or purpose or life assignment). Your third responsibility is to be intentional and diligent in your dream and product result/solution. After all the above is in place, that's when you can think of dating.

Being a man automatically set you as a LEADER in every location, capacity, age group or social class you are presently. Being a man comes with the demand of you setting standard and setting the pace of how things should be done to profit dreams and humanity. You set this standard by example; this is going to be through you own manner of approach to live, situation and event according to the standard of God's Word.
Being a man does not mean you are hundred percent perfect but it means you are matured enough to admit when you are wrong. It means you are humble enough to stand for the truth of God's Word. It means you are honest to say No to anything that belittle the standard of God's Authority and the Lifestyle of Jesus.
Irrespective of your present level of flaws, success, pain and achievement, don't be too hard on yourself cos of your failure. Don't accept arrival mentality because of your achievement. BE EVER PROGRESSIVE IN LEARNING, GROWING, PREPARING, BECOMING, AND DEPLOYING YOUR REASON FOR EXISTENCE. You are a Man of Godly value. Accept it, think it, and attitude you.
