Same, due to the fact that we're only presented with romantic bullshit and not problems that existed in that era.
Or maybe people like switching things up because they're bored with their surroundings

im getting a sense of nostalgia for a time period i did not exist in

In general, people tend to only remember the good things that happened back then; people seem to completely forget about bad things - I guess because it's just not necessary. That's why nostalgia is a thing; memories distort reality and make it way better than it actually was.
I get a feeling that you have the exact same thing, but amplified by the fact that you don't have first-hand experience of what happened back then - you have to go off books, tv shows, et cetera; it might not contain an accurate representation of that era.
As for why it's _nostalgia_ - brains are just weird, I don't really know how to explain that.
Pretty sure this is exactly why (old) people in here still want to go back to USSR even though right now they're living mostly quite a bit better.

Twitter is not for rants please do not abuse the platform made for short messages of the "I am currently sitting on the toilet" type.
If you have a huge thing to write, use Telegraph, Medium, or even fucking pastebin; that way you don't clog up timelines, don't have to write it in 150 parts, have it be actually readable and you're actually able to edit it.
..I don't like twitter rants

3 posts is entirely reasonable, but I routinely see people writing entire blog posts using twitter, spanning 30+ tweets. That's not what the platform is for.
