That's fair, but in my experience it takes much more than a single person to change someone's opinion, and if they're locked in their hugbox it's 100% impossible because they're just going to reject any opinion that challenges their beliefs. Tumblr *really* reinforces it, because you're following people, not concepts, and you're much less likely to be introduced to such content.

I've been dodging a whole bunch of channels for months because of one thing they said in a video, which was rather political. As I have said, this may sound petty, but if I do not enjoy the person, I don't want to support them by consuming the content they produce.
