For reference, Lua has these methods, string.byte and string.char. It's just that the guy used a head-on method instead of actually looking at the pattern and finding out a much easier way.

Well, actually, nvm, string.* methods assume 8-bit strings, but utf8.codes and utf8.char do exactly what you would want.

This is also one of the reasons I did NOT choose Lua for xbot.

Saying that gender is a social construct is complete bullshit solely because dysphoria is a thing, since if gender wasn't tied to biology, why would you suffer if your identity differs from your physical appearance?
