I will not submit to those who expect me to repent for my half-century struggle for equality between men and women. I'm not ready to wear a veil and step back into the past."

Farrukhru Parsa is the first female minister of Iran. She was shot in 1980 for refusing to cover her head with a headscarf (hijab)
