Sang Il Seok “Advancements in Halide Perovskite Photovoltaic Solar Cells”
Sang Il Seok is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Energy and Chemical Engineering at the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) in Korea. He obtained his Ph.D. in the Department of Inorganic Materials Engineering from Seoul National University in Korea. After completing his Ph.D., he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Cornell University in the USA, where he investigated defects and transport in the Fe-Ti-O Spinel structure. He also was a visiting scholar at the University of Surrey in UK in 2003 and École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland in 2006. Prior to joining UNIST in 2015, he served as the principal investigator of the Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology (KRICT) and as a professor at the Department of Energy Science at Sungkyunkwan University. He is a highly cited researcher, selected by Clarivate Analytics as one of the leading researchers since 2018. He has published over 200 peer-reviewed papers, including three articles in Nature and seven articles in Science as a main corresponding author. Such notable publications showcase the depth and significance of his research contributions. Throughout his career, he has received several awards for his outstanding contributions. In 2017, he was honored with the prestigious "Korean Scientist Award" by the Korean government. In 2019, he was awarded the Kyung-Ahm Prize. Notably, in 2022, his groundbreaking work in perovskite solar cells led to him being honored with the esteemed Rank Prize, solidifying his position as one of the pioneering scientists in this area. His research primarily revolves around functional inorganic-organic hybrid materials and devices, with a particular emphasis on perovskite solar cells. His expertise and dedication to advancing the field have solidified his standing as a respected figure in energy and chemical engineering.

Wenxin Wang “Lattice Plasmons: Generation and Applications”
Prof. Dr. Wenxin Wang earned his academic degree of Dr. rer. nat. (cum laude) at the Technische Universität Ilmenau (Germany) in 2018 and became the group leader of Photonic Materials Group (PMG) in the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering as well as the Innovation and Development Base (Qingdao) at the Harbin Engineering University (HEU) in the same year. His main research interests include fabrication of planar and microtubular photonic crystals using artificial alumina membranes, developing plasmonic lattice resonances, and studying band structure of photonic crystals as well as structural color modulated by nanoscale lattice arrangement. So far, he has authored more than 30 papers, many of which are published in high-impact scientific journals, and received some research prizes and prestigious fundings (5.21 million RMB in total), such as the third prize of the “Rising Stars of Light” at the Light conference of LSA in 2018, HEU group-starting grant in 2018, NSFC grant in 2019, and Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities in 2019 and 2020. Meanwhile, he has given quite a few invited talks, such as Postdeadline talk at DPG conference, and organized scientific conferences (e.g., the CPFN in 2014) as well as several social events in Germany. Furthermore, he has been invited by the Chinese Embassy in Germany as a scholar representative to welcome President Xi and Premier Li in their visit to Germany in 2014. Currently, he serves as the deputy president of Heilongjiang Western Returned Scholars Association (Oversea-educated Scholars Association of Heilongjiang), the mentor of HEU "CHEN GENG" Talent Class, and the advisor of OSA-HEU student chapter as well as SPIE-HEU student chapter.
Elena Ushakova “Functionalization of Carbon Nanoparticles”
Elena is a leading researcher at the International Research and Education Center for Physics of Nanostructures in ITMO University. She received her PhD in optics in 2013. From 2018, she participated in 3 international (UK, Hong Kong, and Germany) and 4 Russian scientific projects as a researcher. From 2019 to 2021, she served as a Visiting Associate Professor at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering in City University of Hong Kong. Elena has received several awards, including the “L’Oreal-UNESCO “For women in science” (2021). From 2021, she is the head of laboratory “Light-emissive carbon nanostructures” with focus on R&D of novel nanostructured materials for a wide spectrum of applications from biomedicine to photovoltaics. Currently, she runs 2 projects funded by Priority 2030 Federal Academic Leadership Program and Russian Science Foundation.

Chang-Zhi Li “High-Performance See-Through Power Windows”
Dr. Chang-Zhi Li is currently a full professor at Zhejiang University. He received his PhD in Organic Chemistry in 2007 from Fudan university (through the joint training with Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, CAS), and then conducted research at the University of Tokyo and University of Washington. Since 2015, he has joined the faculty position of Zhejiang University. He has been recognized by several prestigious programs, including China Natural Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. His research aims to explore the boundaries and fundamentals of photon-to-electron conversion with cost-effective material systems, and translate them into practical clean energy solutions.

Wenchao Huang “Ultrathin Flexible Organic Solar Cells”
Wenchao Huang received his B.E. (with honor) and Ph.D. from Monash University in 2012 and 2016, respectively. After postdoctoral training at the University of California Los Angeles, the University of Tokyo, and Monash University, he held an appointment as a professor in the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Wuhan University of Technology in 2021. His current research interests include organic flexible electronics such as photovoltaics, photodetectors, and thin-film transistors as well as the characterization of organic thin films by using synchrotron-based techniques. Recognitions for his research include Australian Synchrotron Stephen Wilkins Medal and Australian Center for Advanced Photovoltaics (ACAP) research fellowship. To date, he has published more than 60 peer-reviewed papers in prestigious international journals, including Science, Sci. Adv., Nat. Comm., PNAS, and Adv. Mater., and received over 8000 citations.

Alexander Kuchmizhak “Advanced Laser Technologies for Nanopatterning of Halide Perovskites”
Aleksandr Kuchmizhak received a Ph.D. degree in 2012 at the Institute of Automation and Control Processes (IACP) of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Vladivostok, Russia). He also worked as a visiting researcher at the Swinburne University of Technology (Melbourne, Australia) and from 2015 as a postdoctoral fellow at the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU, Vladivostok, Russia). Currently, he is a Leading Research Fellow and Head of the Department of Nanophotonics and Laser Nanofabrication Technologies at IACP and an Associate Professor at FEFU. His research interests cover the fundamentals of laser-matter interaction, and laser nanofabrication as well as the application of laser processing technologies for nanophotonics, optoelectronics, and sensing.
Nikolay Petrov “Broadband Terahertz Vortex Beam Shaping: Component Base, Design and Holographic Assessment”
Nikolay V. Petrov received a master's degree from Saint-Petersburg State University in 2007 and got a Ph.D. degree in optics from the ITMO University, St. Petersburg, Russia. Since 2011, he has been a Senior Researcher and Associate Professor with the Department of Photonics and Optical Information Technology, ITMO University. In 2016, he established a digital and display holography laboratory, and since 2017, he took the position of a leading researcher. In 2019 he gained a doctorate (Dr. habil.) degree in optics and became a Leading Professor in 2021, and main Researcher in 2023. Since 2023, he is also a Visiting Professor in Qingdao Innovation and Development Center of Harbin Engineering University. His research interests are mainly focused on holography, femtosecond optics, and terahertz imaging. He has co-authored more than 150 publications in the Scopus database. Dr. Petrov was the recipient of the Russian Federation Government Prize in Education in 2010 and is a winner of several prizes: St. Petersburg Youth Award in Education in 2012, Yu. I. Ostrovsky Prizes for the best scientific work in the field of optical holography and interferometry in 2012 and 2015, St. Petersburg Government Prize in the field of scientific and pedagogical activity in 2015 and Yu.N. Denisyuk medal in 2017. OSA Senior Member from 2019. He is a topical editor of the following journals: Light: Advanced Manufacturing and Applied Optics, and has received the Outstanding Editor award of Light: Advanced Manufacturing in 2021.

В сентябре начинается новый колл грантов студентов и аспирантов на мегафакультете — НИР МиА ФТ МФ.

Мы ищем молодых ученых и аспирантов 3-4 курсов, которые хотят попрактиковаться в рецензировании заявок участников НИР МиА. В будущем этот опыт пригодится при составлении рецензий для журналов, заявок и тд😊
