■ Notes on eye lid diseases : ( 1st part )
● congenital ptosis is the most common cause of ptosis and usually bilateral with abscent lid crease
● Apponeurotic ptosis is the most common cause of aquired ptosis
● CI of surgical TTT of ptosis :-
☆ Complete 3rd nerve paralysis
☆ M.G & corneal anasthesia
● in case of complete 3rd nerve paralysis correct firstly squint then ptosis to avoid diplopia
● fasanella servant operation indicated in horner's syndrome
● sling operation indicated in Jaw winking phenomenon
● Entropion is always associated with trchiasis & usually affect lower lid
● Trachoma is the most important cause of upper lid entropion
● Cicatricial entropion is the most common cause of Entropion
● Ectropion is always associated with epiphora
● Ectropion is usually affect lower lid
● senile ectropion is the most common cause of ectropion
● the first line of ttt of paralytic ectropion is corneal protection

♧ electrolysis is the most commonly used for ttt
● Trichiasis of lower lid ttt by webster's operation while trichiasis with entropion ttt by snellen's operation
●Madarosis is d.t ulcerative blepharitis & Vit A deficinency
● Angular blepharitis is d.t Morax bacillus & ttt by zinc sulphate & tetracycline eye ointment
● Stye is treated surgically by horizontal incision over the skin to avoid gap while infected chalazion ttt by vertical incision over palpebral conjunctiva
● chalazion :
○it is painless swelling on the lid margin
○ skin can be pinched out & fixed to tarsus
○Multiple chalazia in UL : mechanical ptosis Multiple chalazia in LL : ectropion
● permenant tarsorrhaphy is done in cases of permenant facial paralysis
● Lateral tarsorrhapy is done in case of paralytic ectropion
● BCC of lid is the most common malginant of lid while SCC of lid is the seconed most malginant lid tumor
