Hello everyone,
It is with deep sorrow that I announce that I will be resigning as the owner of MCDEV. It’s been a good run. Thirteen months. But all things have to come to an end.
Since I owe you all an explanation, I will explain my reasons for resigning below. These reasons are in no particular order.
Firstly, I’m just tired, and ready to move on. I’ve been running this community for 13 months, and I’ve put a lot of time into it. I’ve put time on both the front end of improving this community, maintaining the archives, and moderating the chats, as well as the backend, of weeding out bad faith actors, making decisions with the board, and writing long scripts for videos. After all of that, I’m just burnt out, and I feel that it’s time for me to move on to other things.
Secondly, I’m busy IRL, and I no longer feel that I am capable of carrying out my duties as the owner of MCDEV. I do not feel that it is fair to cling on to the position of owner, while not being able to carry out what is expected of the owner.
Thirdly, I believe that this community needs a fresh start, with a new owner, who may have new, fresh ideas on how to handle the community.
I have had many fond memories with this community. The things we found, the people I met, the mindless talk about 2b2t, the work we did, I will never forget that.
I hope the new owner, @sberchan, can turn this community around, and get it active again. I really do miss the endless discussions of the old community, and I really do hope we can get back to such a point.
I will continue to stay in the community as an admin, although my presence will be greatly reduced, and I will be less active.
Thank you for your understanding, and I wish the new owner, @sberchan, good luck in running the community.
The terms on which @sberchan has been granted ownership are here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1NI2Id-fdEeTtLE6eZncvjggdowcClIgEWzifWZiyPgM
This document also contains advice for Sberchan which he can use.

Recently a man was able to get his hands on a book on game design for Minecraft written by Jeb. The first title reads "Steve and Alex don't exist"...
We created a alternative china dev archive at https://nuking-ukraine.rocks

Tonight the realization came to me that MCBE China Dev, MCStudio showed on Minecraft Live... Minecraft live damn...
Immediately a question got into my head, why aren't we allowed to show information that outsiders shouldn't see, but they take it and show it on Minecraft Live? WHY?

On 29.01.2023, the world's first redstone counter was created with a working frequency is 20. It was created using CBM technology, the author of this device is Max_RM.
The accuracy checking device showed that the counter was working correctly.

March 8 is the international day of women's solidarity in the struggle for their rights - this is exactly what this date was originally (and not a "holiday of spring and beauty"). More than 100 years have passed since the tradition of celebrating this day appeared, and women still have to fight for equality - and not only.
Today, activists from different cities and regions of Russia tell us about the problems that many women now have to face . We have collected several examples of these problems, and it seems to us that it is important to know about them not only for girls, but also for boys, in order to understand what to protect from and how to support their loved ones.
▪️ Issue: Violence against women
It takes many different forms, from domestic violence to sexual violence to violence against LGBTQIA+ people. Society still very often blames the women themselves for the violence, and this, of course, is terrible. Victims of violence are not only innocent, but should not be left alone with their offenders: everyone has the right to help and support.
▪️ Problem: unequal labor rights
For example, even in the 21st century, there are jobs that adult men rarely agree to. Consultants in stores, saleswomen, employees of cleaning companies - they are all mostly women. It is they who are the most vulnerable employees, because, despite the law, it is easy to fire them or reduce their salary, which is often already very small (and even less than a man would receive). This is unfair: the work of each person should be judged fairly and at its true worth.
▪️ Problem: female political prisoners
Artist Sasha Skochilenko , journalist Maria Ponomarenko, Petersburger Victoria Petrova - these and dozens of other girls have lost their freedom in Russia over the past year because of their anti-war position. It is very difficult for women to be in prison: among other things, they are often subjected to sexist bullying by the security forces and threats of sexualized violence. But even this does not make them give up the truth.
▪️ Problem: militarization of society
War and its infiltration into civilian life - all the "talk about important", collections from parents for the needs of the army and offers to return to military training schools - make society more prone to violence, and this violence is very often spilled out on women.
These are only a small part of the problems that women struggle with in defending their rights and their security. But they are also concerned about the problems that not only girls face. For example, racism against the inhabitants of indigenous peoples and the national republics of Russia (this is when, say, in St. Petersburg or Moscow, labor migrants from Buryatia or Yakutia are negatively treated simply because they look different). Or the problems of people with disabilities , for whom life in Russia was not easy before without ramps and comfortable urban spaces, and now, during the war, many of them, in addition, have lost the necessary medicines from abroad. Or the situation of Ukrainian refugees who, often against their will, are taken to Russia from their homes without money, clothing or livelihood.
What can I personally do?
First of all, it seems to us, not to close our eyes to what is happening around. Just knowing about the problem can already change a lot. It is in our power not to multiply rudeness and aggression towards girls and women, and towards each other in general. This is already a very big step forward.
