तद्विद्धि प्रणिपातेन परिप्रश्नेन सेवया। उपदेक्ष्यन्ति ते ज्ञानं ज्ञानिनस्तत्त्वदर्शिनः॥
“Approach those who have understood the truth with humility, sincere questions, and dedication; they will guide you towards knowledge.”— Bhagavad Gita, 4.34
Mathematics teaches us that an answer is valuable—but the ability to discover "why it must be true" is far more valuable.
And that is precisely what the verse describes:
Humility— because every proof begins by acknowledging what we do not yet know.
Questioning— inquiry from every side—because “it is obvious” has never been a proof.
Dedication— because no teacher can do the thinking for us; they can only guide us until we learn to see for ourselves.
