Certamente você conhece o número de ouro. Mas já ouviu falar do número prateado?
O número prateado, ou razão prateada é uma constante matemática. Seu nome é uma alusão ao Número de Ouro, que é a razão limitante da seqüência de Fibonacci. Analogamente, o número prateado é a razão limitante da sucessão de Pell.
Duas quantidades estão em proporção prateada se a razão entre a maior e a menor é o número prateado. Esta razão define o número prateado como um número irracional, cujo valor equivale a 1 + √2.
