*Why ice floats on water* 🧊🌊

Ice floats because it is less dense than liquid water. Ice is about 9% less dense. When ice forms, it takes up about 9% more space than it did as a liquid. Thus, a 1 liter container of ice weighs less than a 1 liter container of liquid water, and the lighter material floats to the top

🤔 *HOW IT WORKS* =========================
*How a Laser Printer works* 🖨️

Laser printers🖨️ include not only laser but also contain rotating cylinder coated with photosensitive electrically charged material and series of mirrors. When you are sending a document to a laser printer, laser light is reflected by the mirrors on to the cylinder which neutralizes electric charges in specific areas.

The rotation of both cylinder and the mirrors, as well as the lasers are turning on and off at precisely correct moments the areas hit by the laser correspond to the actual print. So when the toner particles hit the cylinder they only stick to the areas exposed to the laser light, because the toner itself has an electrical charge too.

Then a sheet of paper is pressed against the cylinder and the toner is transferred through the paper using heat which fuses a toner to it. That is why pages right from the laser printer are always warm.

Nasdaq fell 0.50% while the S&P 500 ticked up 0.17%. Dow Jones rose 194.55 pts on the strength of bank and energy stocks. The decline in tech and other growth stocks comes as Treasury yields have jumped following President Joe Biden's decision to select Fed Chair Jerome Powell for a second term on Monday. Higher rates are often seen as a key negative for high-growth companies.

Social media giant Meta, the parent company of Facebook, fell 1.1%, while Roku and biotech stock Moderna dropped more than 2%. Shares of Zoom Video Communications tumbled 14.7% a day after it beat earnings estimates but warned of a slowdown ahead as the Covid pandemic winds down and the demand for remote contact decreases. In a relief to market, esp the mid & small cap space, SEBI has postponed the implementation of F&O margin norms which will come into force with effect from February 28, 2022 instead of December 01, 2021. To trade in F&O segment, the earlier margin rules allowed investors to fully utilise their margins in securities. But, under the new rules, investors will need to have 50% cash as margins.

*Money Market Update*

💫The rupee ended at 74.42 against the U.S. Dollar on Tuesday as compared to Monday's closing of 74.40.

Asian stocks were steady Wednesday and Treasury yields held a climb as traders weighed the prospect of tighter monetary policy to curb inflation.

Shares fell in Japan and fluctuated in South Korea and Australia. U.S. futures wavered after energy and financials helped the S&P 500 eke out a gain, while the Nasdaq 100 extended a drop.
The Singapore-traded SGX Nifty, an early indicator of India's Nifty 50 Index's performance, rose 0.33% to 17,566 as of 7:25 a.m.

The Treasury yield curve steepened overnight and the dollar ticked higher. Bond market inflation expectations have retreated from mid-November highs on bets the Federal Reserve will speed up the withdrawal of monetary stimulus.

Curbing inflation is now center-stage for policy makers, building up a test for markets as ultra-loose, pandemic-era monetary stimulus is scaled back. A deluge of U.S. data and the latest Fed minutes, all due Wednesday, will give investors a read on price pressures and the economic recovery.

Elsewhere, oil pared a rally sparked by a smaller-than-expected move from consumer nations to tap strategic reserves. Gold is being pressured by higher yields.
