# Nifty (-93, 17618)
# Sensex (-287, 59126)
# Adv-Dec 9 —— 40
# Nifty PCR 0.787
# Nifty MidCap (+0.25%, 8278)
# NiftySmallC (+0.76, 10890)
# BANK Nifty (-0.84%, 37425)
# Nifty IT (-0.58%, 35078)
# USD/INR (+0.10%, 74.22)
Nifty witnesses gravitational pull as bulls continue to take a break. Amonst sectorial indices, IT and Metal stocks were underperformers.
The relative calm at Dalal Street comes despite several global worries which are primarily linked to tapering.
All anxious eyes on Federal Reserve Chairman Powell who faces the cameras after reiterating his position that inflation should subside. Meanwhile, Congress in U.S is still grappling with the debt ceiling after moving to avert a shutdown. US GDP and German inflation figures are awaited.
Technically, Nifty held above its biggest support line at 17776 mark. The bulls will now anxiously await a solid recovery in the global equity markets that could act as a tailwind for the benchmark Nifty.
*The key highlights of today’s trade:*
# Nifty ends a volatile session lower.
# Bank Nifty (-0.84%) mirrors’ Nifty’s losses of 0.59%.
# Mid-cap & Small-cap indices trade with positive bias, up 0.25% and 0.76% respectively.
# VIX inches lower 2.31% at 18.40.
# Top Index Gainers: BAJAJ FINANCE (+2.11%) BAJAJ FINSERV (+2.11%) TATA MOTORS (+1.04%).
# Top Index Losers: POWERGRID (-2.82%) ASIAN PAINTS (-2.26%) SHREE CEMENTS (-2.15%).
OUR VIEW FOR FRIDAY’S TRADE:
Technically, all aggressive bullish eyes on Nifty’s all-time-highs at 17948 mark. Well, if Nifty powers higher above the 17948 mark, then expect — it will be all roses for our stock markets.
Alternatively, expect waterfall of selling below Nifty 17557 mark with downside risk at 17327 mark.
Perma-bulls’ will be hoping that Nifty Bulls’ pull out rabbits out of their hat and take the benchmark to the magical 18000+.
Long story short: Buying advised only above Nifty 17827 mark.
