2. NTPC to hold initial share sales of its units NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Ltd (NVVN) and NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (NTPC REL), with merchant bankers making preliminary presentations. NVVN and NTPC REL are expected to be among the first clean energy firms to list on domestic bourses. The Co targets 60 GW renewable energy capacity by 2032 from ~ 4GW currently. It will invest ₹1 tn between 2019 and 2024 to become a 130GW power producer by 2032.

Overnight at Wall Street, investors weighed the highly contagious delta variant's impact on the economic.

Market participants will now look for fresh clues regarding the timing of asset tapering. So all eyes will be on FOMC’s July meeting minutes to trickle in on Wednesday, August 18th.

If the minutes confirm that the Fed will go into a tightening path before the end of the year, the greenback could start to outperform its rivals and force emerging market equities and the yellow metal to turn south.

The Reserve Bank of India has allowed the bank to issue new credit cards, partially removing a months-long ban on the lender, a person with direct knowledge of the matter said. The central bank, however, retained the ban on bank launching new digital products.

*HCL Technologies*

Signed a five-year, end-to-end IT transformation services deal with Wacker Chemie AG, a German multinational chemical company. HCL Tech will help Wacker Chemie AG to establish a modernised digital workplace and improve its quality-of-service delivery.

*Bharat Dynamics*

The company has signed a licencing agreement with MBDA to establish a facility for the final assembly, integration, and test of Advanced Short Range Air-to-Air Missile (ASRAAM) missiles in India. Under the agreement, MBDA will transfer the equipment and knowledge to Bharat Dynamics for establishing the facility. The facility is expected to commence operations by 2022-23.

Warburg-Backed MedPlus Seeks SEBI Nod For Rs 1,640 Crore-IPO, Bloomberg Reports

MedPlus Health Services Ltd. has sought the markets regulator’s nod to raise as much as Rs 1,639 crore through an initial public offering, Bloomberg reported. The Hyderabad-based pharmacy chain seeks to raise as much as Rs 600 crore by selling new shares, while its shareholders plan to pare up to Rs 1,039 crore worth of shares, Bloomberg reported citing the company’s draft red herring prospectus filed with the Securities and Exchange Board of India.

The selling shareholders include Lone Furrow Investments Pvt., Premji Invest’s PI Opportunities Fund, and Natco Pharma. In May, Bloomberg had reported that the company was working with Nomura Holdings Inc., Edelweiss Financial Services Ltd. and Axis Capital Ltd. on the potential offering.

The listing could also value the Warburg Pincus-backed startup at about $1 billion (about Rs 7,450 crore). MedPlus, founded in 2006 by Wharton graduate Madhukar Gangadi, runs more than 2,000 pharmacies and general stores across India, as well as an e-commerce unit — MedPlusMart.

It also runs a diagnostics service, an optical lens store and business-to-business medical supplies, according to its website.

Sterlite Power Transmission Ltd. may consider a pre-IPO placement of shares for up to 2.2 billion rupees, according to its draft prospectus.

As of March 31, the company’s portfolio included 25 current and sold projects, covering approximately 13,700 circuit kilometers; its 10 completed projects and five ongoing projects in India span 9,246 circuit kilometers with a total capital expenditure of 244.9b rupees, according to the prospectus
