*Insurance and AMCs*
*Healthy Q1 eyed; low penetration enlarges growth potential*
*Q1FY2022 Results Preview*
*Sector: Insurance and AMCs*
*Sector View*
*Insurance: Positive*
*AMCs: Positive*
We believe Q1FY2022 will be a strong quarter for life insurance players as they witnessed resumption in business and greater customer appetite for protection products. We expect annualised premium equivalent (APE) for life insurance companies in the Sharekhan universe to increase by 41% y-o-y on an average. We believe that cost savings, reserve releases and higher volumes are expected to support VNB margins in Q1FY2022.
*Outlook*
*Insurance players to gain in Q2FY22, AMCs’ outlook improving*
The economy may face a temporary blip due to the second wave of COVID-19 and the subsequent localised lockdowns. Mutual fund penetration at 10% is low in India as compared to 12% for China and 104% in the US. There are only 2 crore pure mutual fund investors in India and 35 crore insurance policyholders, reveals data from the AMFI and IRDAI).
*Valuation*
We prefer large well-capitalised players which are market leaders. We believe that for Q1FY2022, the second wave of COVID-19 will take a toll on earnings, led by claims arising out of mortality. The sector may recover and revert to normalcy (in new business premium) and players like HDFC LIFE, Max and HDFC Life are expected to see healthy APE growth of 30-40%. We expect large well-managed AMCs to garner strong AUMs, given the prevalent market conditions and low financial savings of 6.4% of gross disposable incomes in India.
*Key risks:*
Due to the resurgence of COVID 19, the economic recovery may be prolonged. Economic distress may lead to further risk-off behaviour, impacting profitability and growth outlook.
*Leaders for Q1FY2022:* HDFC Life, ICICI Pru, Max Financials
*Preferred Picks:* HDFC Life, Nippon Life AMC, Max Financial Services, ICICI Lombard

*THEME OF THE DAY:*

• Overnight at Wall Street, the major indexes swung between small gains and losses before largely finishing in the red. The Dow ended Tuesday off 0.3% to 34,888, the S&P 500 finished 0.4% lower to 4,369, and the Nasdaq closed with a 0.4% decline to 14,677.

• Our *call of the day* suggests that bulls are likely to remain in control and most importantly, banking stocks are likely to extrapolate optimism. Bank Nifty is likely to outperform the benchmark Nifty.

• Our *chart of the day* indicates all sunshine and unicorns for stocks like INDUSIND BANK, KOTAK BANK, HINDALCO and AXIS BANK.

• Technically speaking, the biggest intraday support on Nifty seen at 15707 mark. Expect the benchmark to aim its all-time-highs at 15917 mark and then aggressive targets at 16000-16250 zone is a possibility if the mentioned support at 15707 holds in coming sessions.

To gain momentum on the upside, Nifty needs to move above its all-time-high at 15917 mark.

The price action for Nifty for this week’s trade is suggesting that we are likely to see a 15,500- 16200 range in near term with bullish bias.

• *SHOW ME THE MONEY:* Buy INDUSIND BANK (CMP 1056): Buy at CMP, targeting 1089 and then at 1109-1121 zone with stop below 1023.

*_NIFTY EDGES HIGHER AS GREEN SHOOT IN RECOVERY BUOY SENTIMENT_*

*Global markets :*
Asian equity markets trade on a mixed note this morning after US indices fell from a record while bond yields rose following a surprise U.S. inflation jump which has raised the concerns on how long Fed policy can stay ultra-loose. The CPI jumped 0.9% MoM & 5.4% YoY in June. Fed Chair Jerome Powell testimony will be keenly eyed this week. 10 year bond yield trades now above 1.4% levels.

Earnings season started on a mixed note, led by JPMorgan Chase and Goldman Sachs.

Spread of the more contagious delta variant of Covid-19, which is hampering the recovery, will continue to impact markets in either way. Meanwhile, Oil prices edged up as tight supply and expectations of a further draw in U.S. and global crude inventories provided support. Brent now trades above $76/bl mark.

*Domestic markets :*

ICICI Bank (up 2.7%), HDFC, Axis Bank, Sun Pharma were the top gainers. Auto Ancillary stocks were in focus. Minda Ind hit new high.

India’s economic rebound is gathering momentum, according to high-frequency, alternative and market indicators. Most real economy indicators signalled recovery progress, including power demand, retail and recreation activity, employment, consumer sentiment and flight departures. But road congestion eased, signaling a drop in mobility. The economic toll of the 2nd wave is likely to be limited to the Q1. Power demand increased 23% YoY (up 2.6% QoQ, following a 6.9% rise in the previous week) in the week ended July 11.

A continued decline in active coronavirus cases is improving consumer sentiment and states are steadily easing restrictions. The number of active Covid-19 cases fell to 454,118 on July 11 from 485,350 in the previous week. That was down from a peak of 3.75 million on May 10.

The Maharashtra govt announced its revised EV policy worth Rs 930 cr. The public transport and last-mile delivery vehicles will see 25% electrification under this policy. This will be done in the five targeted urban agglomerations in the state. It also targets to have around 1,500 charging stations in Mumbai itself by 2025 along with converting 15% of MSRTC buses to electric. The state govt aims at least 10% of 2Ws, 20% of 3Ws and 5% of 4Ws to be EVs by 2025. The policy will subsidise the first 100,000 electric 2-wheelers. The PNB Housing preferential allotment to Carlyle was objected to by proxy firms on grounds of propriety, corporate governance and the absence of control premium.

Telecom subscriber numbers for April showed some impact of the lockdown, although Vodafone came under a lot of pressure. According to TRAI, net subscriber addition in Apr-21 was tepid at just 2.2 million. This is in contrast to monthly average additions of close to 5.4 million in the previous 6 months.
While Jio added 4.8 million subscribers in Apr-21, Airtel added 0.5 million Vodafone lost 1.8 million subscribers. This means that any tariff hike may not happen for now, which is not encouraging news for Vodafone Idea.

😳 Why

Why we get Sweat 😥😰

Sweat is our way of cooling us down. When our body starts to sense that it's overheating, it starts sweating as a way to control its temperature. “By promoting heat loss through evaporation, sweat helps regulate our body temperature,”

Pure sweat is actually odorless. So why do you smell when you sweat? You may notice the smell mostly comes from our pits (hence why we put deodorant there). This is because the apocrine glands produce the bacteria that break down our sweat into “scented” fatty acids. Apocrine sweat by itself does not have an odor, but when the bacteria that lives on our skin mixes with apocrine secretions, it can produce a foul-smelling odor.

Eccrine glands produce most of our sweat. These glands are mostly concentrated on the palms, soles, forehead and armpit, but covers entire body.
Emotional sweat , which comes from the apocrine glands, is a bit different. “It does not serve a temperature regulatory function, but rather one to combat an impending challenge. Spicy foods can stimulate our sweat glands. Foods like garlic, onions, or cabbage may worsen body odor

Some people experience yellow stains under the arms of white shirts or on white sheets. This is due to a chemical reaction between your sweat and your antiperspirant or clothes. “Aluminum

How Do Gramophones Work? 📣

The first functioning record player, called a phonograph, was constructed by Thomas Edison in the late 19th century.

Early record players that were driven by mechanical means and reproduced sound without electrical amplification. These record players are quite different from modern turntables, but the records that store the sound and the needles that turn it into audible music work in essentially the same way.

The Gramophone Player
Like other record players, gramophones read the sound with a small needle which fits into the groove in the record. That needle is attached to a diaphragm, which in turn is attached to a horn. ... These vibrations are transmitted to the diaphragm, which itself vibrates, creating sound. His first phonograph used grooves etched in tin foil to record his rendition of "Mary Had a Little Lamb"--the first sound recording.

Remedies for knee pain

Exercises to strengthen the upper thighs can benefit the knee joint.

(a) Straighten and raise a leg while lying or sitting down. (b) Place one foot up on a step, then the other, stepping down again, and repeating the step-ups. (c) Sit on a chair and then stand and sit repeatedly for a minute (d) Hold a chair and squat until the kneecaps cover the toes. Do this 10 times. (e). Avoiding prolonged sitting and long periods without moving, as joints may become stiff and painful without movement.

People who have excess weight or obesity have a higher risk of knee pain. Losing it helps to reduce long-term knee pain, including pain caused by arthritis.

Massaging the thigh muscles will have a beneficial impact on the knee. Rest, ice, compression, and elevation may help treat mild knee pain that results from a soft tissue injury, such as a sprain. Rest can reduce the risk of further injury and give tissues time to heal.
