Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories: International Center for Dispute Resolution, U.S. has ordered a subsidiary of the company to pay $46.25 million (towards milestones, interest and fees) to Hatchtech Pty. for a skin treatment lotion. Dr Reddy’s arm signed an asset-purchase agreement with Hatchtech in 2015. In July 2020, the company received approval from the U.S. FDA for Xeglyze (abametapir) lotion. That triggered a contractual pre-commercialisation milestone payment of $20 million to Hatchtech. That amount is included in the award, along with interest and fees, by the international arbitrator.

Jubilant Pharmova: Jubilant HollisterStier LLC, a step-down subsidiary of the company, has partnered with Ocugen Inc. for manufacturing of Covid-19 vaccine candidate, Covaxin, for the U.S. and Canadian markets.

RITES: Emerged as the lowest bidder for Rs 1,741 crore railways project. A tender was called the Ministry of Railways for railway electrification work on a turnkey basis.

Wipro: Extended its partnership with Levi Strauss & Co. The four-year agreement builds upon the companies’ existing collaboration in digital commerce, infrastructure, and finance. Wipro will provide Global IT support services across Levi Strauss & Co.’s consumer digital technology space. Further, the company has announced a strategic partnership with FEV to open Innovation Lab for developing Software Defined Vehicles. The lab will help automakers, OEMs create enhanced automobile experiences.

Godrej Agrovet: Executed a share purchase agreement with Saar Yavin and Adaya Aroyo, Maxximilk Ltd (Israel) and Godrej Maxximilk Pvt Ltd for the acquisition of 2.95 lakh shares of GMPL. Post-acquisition GMPL will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company. The acquisition was made at Rs 10 crore and is expected to be completed before June 30.

ICICI Bank: Allotted 28,274 unsecured long-term bonds in the nature of debentures aggregating to Rs 2,827.4 crore on a private placement basis on June 15. The bonds carry a coupon rate of 6.45% per annum for a period of seven years.

Videocon Industries: Has fixed June 18 as the record date for the purpose of delisting of equity shares from BSE and NSE.

Nesco: Appointed Krishna Patel as the Chairman and Managing Director with effect from June 15. Patel will replace Sumant Patel, who has been appointed as Executive Director and Chief Mentor of the company effective June 15.

The RBI is unlikely to react yet to multi- month high retail prices as economic recovery remains its prime focus amid the deadly second wave of the pandemic, according to two senior sources aware of the central bank's thinking. The annual retail inflation rate rose 6.30% year-on-year in May, up from 4.29% in April and sharply above analysts' estimate of 5.30%. The wholesale price inflation rate rose 12.94%, its highest in at least two decades.

Bank of Baroda is working towards providing a flexible working model to its employees aimed at striking a work-life balance and productivity enhancement in the long run. The work environment went through a sea change during the pandemic and employees are able to work from home and office, the bank said in its annual report for 2020-21.

HDFC Bank was facing technical glitches with its mobile app today. The issues lasted for over an hour. The bank had informed the customers about the same stating that it was looking into the problem which will be resolved “shortly.”

Deutsche Bank will hire over 3,000 techies this year to strengthen its technology centres in India, Russia, Romania and the US. The bank would hire over 1,000 people in India including 300 engineering graduates of various disciplines from 30 different campuses of NITs and IITs. These freshers are expected to come on board in July, the Bank said.

LIC Housing Finance reported a 5% Y-o-Y decline in 4th quarter standalone net profit at ₹399 Cr against ₹421 Cr in the year ago quarter. The board of directors recommended a dividend of ₹8.50 per equity share (425%) of ₹2 each, subject to approval of the members of the Co at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting.

SBI Cards and Payment Services said its has raised Rs 500 Cr by issuing bonds. Its board of directors has approved the allotment of 5,000 fixed rate, unsecured, rated, taxable, redeemable and senior non- convertible debentures aggregating to Rs 500 Cr on a private placement basis, SBI Card said in a regulatory filing.

Navi General Insurance has introduced a subscription-based health insurance in Kerala through monthly EMIs instead of paying an upfront annual premium. The health insurance policies can be purchased using EMIs starting as low as ₹240 per month. With no agents and a completely digital and paperless process, customers can buy health insurance via the Navi Health app within 2 minutes, with the policy issued to them instantly on the app. The Co offers health insurance cover ranging from ₹2 lakh to ₹1 Cr for individuals and families.

India's exports rose by 69.35% to $32.27 billion in May, driven by healthy growth in sectors such as engineering, petroleum products and gems and jewellery, even as trade deficit widened to $6.28 billion, according to Govt data released today. Exports in May last year stood at $19 billion, and in May 2019 it was at $29.85 billion, the data showed. Imports too grew in May 2021 by 73.64% to $38.55 billion, from $222 billion in the same month a year ago -- leaving a trade deficit for the month being reviewed at $6.28 billion.

Financial wealth in India grew 11% to USD 3.4 trillion in 2020 despite the coronavirus pandemic, a global consultancy BCG estimated today. The 11% growth in financial wealth was at par with the compounded annual growth rate for the 5 years to 2020, the report by BCG said.

Pension regulator PFRDA has allowed National Pension System (NPS) subscribers with savings of upto ₹5 lakhs in NPS to take the entire amount at retirement without mandating any investment in annuity. Hitherto, this facility (without annuity rider) was available only for withdrawal of NPS corpus or savings upto ₹2 lakh at the time of retirement.
Simultaneously, the PFRDA has also raised the premature withdrawal limit on a lumpsum basis for NPS to ₹2.5 lakh from ₹1 lakh earlier, Supratim Bandyopadhyay, Chairman, PFRDA told.

Ten central trade unions will hold a day-long nationwide protest on 26 June in collaboration with farmers' unions, seeking a host of demands, including the repeal of recently approved farm laws, labour codes, and an income transfer scheme for the poor. 1. The Health Ministry said that pre-registration through online CoWIN and prior booking of appointment is not mandatory to get the Covid-19 vaccine.

2. The Jharkhand govt has announced black fungus as an epidemic.

3. Chandigarh administration eases COVID restrictions & announced that all shops will remain open from 10 am to 7 pm in the city, despite a daily night curfew being in force.

4. A court in New Delhi on 15 June deferred immediate release of Jawaharlal Nehru University students Devangana Kalita and Natasha Narwal, who have been granted bail by the Delhi high court in the riots 'conspiracy' case. The high court granted them bail and directed them to furnish a personal bond of Rs 50,000 each along with two sureties of the like amount.

5. The three student activists were arrested in May 2020 and are accused of being the "masterminds" of the February 2020 violence, which had left 53 people dead and hundreds injured. Narwal, along with 17 others, are accused in the case.

6. Maharashtra govt to provide Rs. 5 lakh assistance to children who have lost their parents during Corona period.

7. Jal Shakti Ministry has urged all the MPs to participate and support Jal Shakti Abhiyan. Minister of State for Jal Shakti Rattan Lal Kataria said.

10. Bharat Biotech - the vaccine maker of Covaxin said that the supply price of COVAXIN to Centre at ₹150/dose, is a non-competitive price and clearly not sustainable in the long run. Therefore it requires higher price in private markets.

11. *The Haryana government gave nod to increase pension financial assistance under social security schemes with effect from April 1.* The Cabinet increased old-age pension and the assistance for widows, handicapped, girl child and eunuchs from Rs 2,250 to Rs 2,500 per month. Financial assistance given to destitute children has been increased from Rs 1,350 to Rs 1,600/month & the assistance to disabled children not going schools has been hiked from Rs 1,650 to Rs 1,950 per month.

Chirag Paswan removed as LJP chief a day after coup: The two Lok Janshakti Party factions headed by Chirag Paswan and Pashupati Kumar Paras moved swiftly to take control of the party as a national executive meeting of the organisation expelled five MPs while the Paras-led group removed Paswan as its president.

13. *Karnataka imposes restrictions under Sec 144 in Bengaluru city limits till June 21* : The virus claimed 125 lives, including 23 in Bengaluru, taking the state's death toll to 32,913 and the city's toll to 15,307 since the pandemic broke out in mid-March a year ago.

14. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has formed a committee to decide the evaluation criteria for computation of Class 12 results. The committee will submit its report on 18 June, 2021.

16. An IndiGo flight had a lucky escape when one of its tyres burst on landing in Hubli, Karnataka on 14 June evening. IndiGo flight 6E-7979, an ATR, had landed in Hubli from Kannur in Kerala when its tire burst upon landing. All are safe.

17. Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd (MDSL) will deliver the first of the four stealth guided missile destroyers to the Indian Navy by October and a Scorpene-class submarine by the end of the fiscal year. Mazagon Dock Limited, is a shipyard situated in Mazagaon, Bombay.
It manufactures warships and submarines for the Indian Navy and offshore platforms and associated support vessels for offshore oil drilling. It also builds tankers, cargo bulk carriers, passenger ships and ferries.

18. An encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in Wagura area of Naugam, on the outskirts of Srinagar yesterday (15June) evening.
